I'm 6 foot 170lbs, i ride hard and all mt very little park. what size scratch bc should i get?

Length 188cm-Sidecut 122-90-115 or Length 176cm-Sidecut 118-86-112

188 is a hell of an off piste length for you, it'd be perfect as a big mountain style ski. I'm the same size as you and ride a 178 and a 185. That's tough because you should look in the 180 to 183 range.....right smack dab in the middle.

I ride a 178 most of the time (volkl G4), ski super hard and that seems to be enough. With your weight, I would think you'd be okay with that 176, you're really not that heavy and the ski is 88 underfoot, plenty of float. And the shorter that ski is the easier the 88mm will be to turn over on piste.

SO, my .02 is you go with the 176...

188, if you think you can handle it, what size was your last pair and did you ever ski on straight boards? those are two questions that could help answer your question

188, no doubt about it. Especially if you don't ride too much park. And when you do go into the park, they'll still be fine. The 'advantages' of short skis are overrated - you can spin fine once you're used to it.

The disadvantages of a long ski are underrated, overlooked. Believe it or not spinning is not the only advantage to a short ski. I know lots of guys 170lbs who's everyday skis are lengths 177, 175, 171 even....slalom skis in the 160's. On the contrary I know lots of guys who are on 188, 185's everyday at about the same weight, maybe a little bigger. It really depends on what type of skier you are.

For a quick note- go shorter if you make shorter turns; go longer if you make longer turns.

get the 188. i'm like 138 lbs. and i ski a 183, park mostly, and it works great. definitely get the long ski
