hey ns, im looking to get new skis next year and i want to

know if you guys think its too long. for the past three years ive skied 161's and they feel really short.

this year i want to get 174's because i found a pair cheap. im 5'6" and i weigh 150 lb (all leg muscle.... im an RB on

varsity football) im also and advanced

skier
and i used to race when i was younger. do you guys think i can handle

174's?

question is, will 174's be too long for me?

What kind of skis are they?

I think 174 would be about right, especially if they have rocker

thats kind of a big jump.

im rocking 176's and im 5'10

you can probably handle them, but maybe try to find 166 or 171

depends if they are rockered or not. i am 6 feet and ski on 176. depends if you charge hard and hit huge jumps. You should be able to handle them as you are an ex racer and have an aggressive skiing background.

im 5'11'' and i ski 179 k2's they have jib rocker and there great so they are just as tall as me and there sick

I am 5'11" and I am skiing my park skis that are 171 and just got some rockered 186. Its really up to you but I think you should go with some longer skis you can kinda grow into, especially if you have strong legs. I have been using my 171s since I was 5' and they worked.

Thanks for all the goods answers! +k to everyone!

More info: skis are not rockered, but I can get a good deal, and I think I'm going to get them, since I've grown at least 6 inch since I started skiing 161's

Depends on you and how tech ya want to get on rails and such...go with length if your hittin big booters or drops and go shorter for the super tech rail jibtackular stuff....if the ability is there in theory you could ride 200s but they'd be tough to swing around, switch on rails, etc...make sense?
