Ski Length, go down a side, or remount?

Have a pair of 179 skis, I am 5"9, 195lbs, advanced, not expert but aggressive.

My old pair of same skis were 172, I went up to a 179.

Felt like the length in front was a bit much for glades.

Question goes, should I remount before center point, or go back down to a 172 ski?

what ski/where are they mounted now? the way that is worded sounds like you have them center mounted and are asking if you should remount back a little? but that would give you even more length up front?

I dont think that they are too big for you, it'll just take some time getting used to them. i wouldnt go back to 172.

also, have a chance to pick up the 172 for fairly cheap, and flip the 179s.... Just want to know tech aspects of going down a few cm.

So what your saying is bindings mounted in front of center? If so don't do that. The longer ski may feel a little funny at first but you will get used to it quickly.

Yes thats what I was suggesting. I spent 2 short seasons on them, haven't been able to get out much.

Felt my reaction time on them was slower than 172.

Yea I would either deal with it or get a new ski. It could also be a difference in design from the two skis that is causing this issues.
