Ski Length For Park

Im buying a park ski. Im 5'6 and 135 lbs. The invader will be the ski...but im wondering if 171 is too long? My current ski is a 160, but it is way to small. this ski will be for only park, but i hit a lot of rails as well as jumps.

u fuckin pussies...

u need atleast 170's, you'll get used to it

you'll just have more control, go faster, and maybe be able to clear some real jumps

well if ur not very aggresive/good id say 171 but i can guess that ur still growing and 178s will feel stabler and go faster

It took me about one full day to be able to do what I did on my old pair of skis.

I was going from 150's (wayyyy too small) to 165's. I'm around 5'5/5'6.

no 2 sesons ago i was on 151s and tryed some 176is and it took like only a few runs to adjust to the skis caoabilitys

im 13 5'5 and 100 i ride 171s center mount. id get the 176's

oh and dumant jr. haha your faaaaatt!! when i was 12 i wieghed like 90 and i was like 5'4 haha

For invaders I would get 178. I rode those for a long time and they ride smalll. They are centermount so they ski short, and they have butter zones so the tails and tips feel shorter due to their controlled flex.

how do you ski a 159? go into the high 170's, or you won't be able to do a lot. I'm 6' and some pounds, i ride 174's mounted way back, even they are feeling a bit small at high speeds.

Im 5'7 and I have 2 pairs of skis. One for park that are 169. And my skis for powder are 178's. I would say go with a 169

i havent really had problems in the park with them, a little tough to hold an edge outside it though. i just got them center mounted for the last 2 days of the season but those days i only skied park and it was fine. im thinkin ill get a longer pair of fujis next year and just use these as backyard/urban skis. btw how do u determine ski length. is it by height or weight?

hello, dont you people know your stuff, depending on what year u get bro 171 is as big as you can go unless 181 witch is way to big for you, so Ide go 171 being invader sick ski that they are, ive ridden them many a time mounted in the dead center 171 will be perfect. o yea if 171 is to big just use you old one for a few days until you get your sea legs back

i am the same height and weight as you and i rock 176 center mounted dumonts, they work like a charm

dont listen to these guys, everyone is still stuck on the long ski movement. get something that you're going to be able to control and throw around. I'm 5'4 135lbs and ride a 161cm invader for park. like someone suggested 168-171 is a perfect size for you.

i was that height and weight last year on 165 troublemakers they felt wayyy to short. w im 5'6 130 lbs on 174 scratches, its perfect

It also depends on the ski. The stiffer it is the longer it will seem to ya.

I am on 181 AR6s being 5'10 180 and they're perfect, but if I would get the PE's (which I find stiff) I would go for the 174s, nevertheless that everyone else would suggest the 179.

I was thinking...if 5'7 midgets are using ~181cm skis, then what are the people that are like 6'1 190+ supposed to use? Hellbents maybe?!

I was thinking the same thing.

'If 5'9" riders are on 181s all the time, what do 6'9" riders ride?'

I think the center mount trend of park skis makes a longer ski necessary. For normal people, who do normal skiing, with normal mounts, I suppose realistic ski sizes are better. But even so, youre only talking about 8cm of rearward mounting for the most traditional freeride skis....

Regards,

yea i want a light not too expensive binding....any ideas? be specific not just salomon or look. these skis/bindings will be for park only

oh my god.

im 5',10" and ride 152s which suck and im getting 176 ar6s.

GET 181s or you will get made fun of everywhere.
