Ski length for all mountain skis

5'9, 125 lbs. Pacific north west skiing.

Looking at the moment wildcat 108's. What length should I go for? Are moments true to size?

Should I get the 174 or 179?

As an all mountain ski that can also be flung around which length should I go with? I'll be using it for charging and off-piste but also I will be using it for rails and park days sometimes if I didn't bring my honey badgers.

Either one is good, you're right between them, so go with your gut. If you're still on the fence, 125 is pretty light for that height and you say you wanna throw em around a little, that says go 174.

I forget how moments are on a straight tape pull measure, maybe our boyee [tag=144811]@hot.pocket[/tag] can stop by and remind us

1-2cm shorter than advertised in my experience

Under 180 length ski ain't all mountain ski. I'm same size and using always +180 skis. You will look like Andri Ragettli when using child length skis

We measure the ski based on the base material length while laying flat, ON3P is really the only brand that comes to mind that does a straight tape pull, or after pressing, measurement.

This is bad advice, while you two might be the same size, it doesn't account for how either of you ski, the style you prefer, your ability levels, where you ski in the world, what kind of terrain you prefer, etc...not to mention what ski model you are on.
