Hi. I'm about to buy a pair of k2 Public Enemy's but i was wondering which lenght i should choose. I'm 1m79. If i choose the 169 it wil be better on the pistes because of the shorter radius but the 179 will ofcourse be better in powder. Any suggestions? Right now i have a salomon 1080 171

k2 ski lengths are measured in running length.

go long, you wont regret it, unless you suck

we measured them at work. tip to tip in a straight line they are 169. if you hold the tape measure flast against the base and curve it up with the tip and the tail they are about 173.5cm. line measures with the holding the tape to the base method, so does salomon. that was our conclusion.

weird that they would measure different models of skis differently. my bad, i assumed they would measure at least all their twintips in the same way.

its weird how they do that, i never knew they did. but how much do you weigh? if you're heavier i'd say go with the 179s. well actually either way id say go with the 179s, but especially if you're a heavier guy

i think line also measures skis before materials are all put together, i heard that somewhere. so they are 2cm shorter which is true cuz i compared 177 line with 175 armada and they were same lenght. but tails on lines are more tipped than armada which i guess you need to take that into account.

ALways go long, always. Better for landing, better pop, more stable. And once you get used to em, you got more ability to really crank the ski in turns. Where as you'll just overpower a short ski.

geez, who uses metric?

I'm canadian and everyone uses feet and pounds... I can't relate 1m79...well yes I can, close to 5'7' (i think?).

Kinda wierd eh? Most canadian use milimeters and centimers for really small measurements, feet and inches for medium measurements and kilometers for long measurements. Funny that eh?

what the hell. have you guys ever skied before. just get what you had last year, unless it was too long or short. then adjust as need.
