i was going to get my level this year becasue i have been volunteering at my local hill for the past 3 years but its a waste of money for me anyways so im not going to get it...

I've got my PSIA/AASI park & pipe cert. Probably gonna try for level 1 PSIA this year.

I teach at Jiminy Peak in MA, been doing it for..... 4 years now.

AASI (snowboard) level II, should get III this year. I teach park skiing too. I might go for my level I or II PSIA this year also.

i got my level one. taught one lesson when the mountain beggedme to. i made them pay me more. instructing doesnt pay and doesnt let you actually ski. its sucks

i have my CSIA level 1 and CSCF level 1. i should probably go get my level 2 sometime, it would be a good thing. i like instructing, it's good money and i don't hate little kids.

depends. I took a two season course, but you don't have too. As long as you pass the test, you're good

 
ive got my CSIA level 1, and am goin for 2 this year. i love instucting... its so sweet. i wanna get my level 3 by the time i graduate (im 15 now) so i can teach in another country in our summer months. like NZ or something.

does anyone know how hard the CSCF level 1 is, cuz i need that before i canb get my level 3

for CSIA level 1, theres no writtin test. all i did was ski half a day, read the book and watch movies the otehr half (for 2 days). level 2 has two parts, the skiing and written test that you have to pass.

CSIA Level 1 test for me was:

Demonstrate PERFECT snow plow turns

Demonstrate PERFECT intermediate parallel turns (not carved)

Demonstrate your own BEST skiing

And then teach a small class consisting of other people you took the course with. A course conductor watches you do this fake teaching (you might be teaching a bunch of instructiors how to snow plow) and passes you if you can communicate, demonstrate, analyze, and give feedback well on how everyone did.

Have to pass both skiing and teaching tests. We had horrible conditions on the hill, so a lot of people failed the skiing test. Maybe 2 people failed the teaching test. I think 7 out of the 35 passed the course in total.

 
Level I, Level I freestyle/aerials...both expired as I hate teaching..didn't mind coaching though.

do they train you, like run through the perfect snow plow turns and then test, or is it just a big test. cuz obviously i can snowplow turn, but how do i know if its the way the want it, ya know?

when i did it they spent the first two days teaching you and the last day testing you. easy as shit. as long as your competent. they mainly look at attitude and how good of a teacher you are.

Yeah, that is why I only did it for a year, its not necessarily the money that is important, but I skied a lot LESS when I was an instructor...I wanted to do it to ski free, which was sweet, but you only skied for a couple hours every weekend.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.
 
you must have worked at a busy hill. Where i worked, you only got 1-2 lesson's a day and if you didn't like the student, you could pass it up.

PSIA Level 3 Certified and one of 4 in all of PSIA-E that has completed the Freestyle/Freeride Accredidation (program only started a couple years ago). I was out of Nashoba up until this year when I moved, I should be teaching out of Steamboat this year, but I haven't figured out if I wanted to just take a year to ski.

i dont teach for the money only for the free pass. i taught a grand total of 8 lessons the entire season. and i still have a job there. i realy dont know why they still want me

I teach, but I'm not certified and don't plan to...it's too expensive and not really worth it to me. I do it to pay for my skiing and gas money, and also to help people enjoy the sport I love. Please, let's not hear any of the comments that all ski instructors are gay, because it's not true.
 
csia 2 was going to take park and pipe, but red lights dont mean stop to some people so im out for the next 8 months minimum, and choked about it. Complete tears acl mcl, partial pcl and meniscus damage in left knee, partial tear in right acl, partial tear in my neck.
