Wow! Thank you all. I am totally happy with how it turned out. I've had the idea for a couple of years now, and finally decided since after so long and I was still psyched on it then it probably meant I'd be okay with it on me for good. I got it on the outside of my lower leg and it is about 4" around.
As it is my first I originally thought about having it be a lot smaller and somewhere else less conspicuous. But I am so glad I went for big and bold. If I'd done the smaller concept and put it on my ankle or something it would be half ass'ed and lame, you guys all know: "Go big or go home!".
I have a friend who is a tattoo artist and she took my sketches and refined them into what makes a good tattoo, she was the one who really got the mountains to pop out a lot more. The short is, I am really psyched to represent myself and my passions with this. I am not sure I'll ever get another.
If you live in Jersey get your ink done by Suzee-Q at Liberty Ink in Denville, she is really talented, and is good family.
Thanks again for so much support. See you on Furthur/Phish tour this summer.
P.S. Anyone have lodging to share in Telluride?

If I end up ski bumming it the way I plan, I want to get a tattoo for every mountain I spend more than a few seasons at, all on my midsection, and as I get old, it will form a mountain range around my torso, of places like Revelstoke, Alyeska, Telluride, Vail, etc.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't know you were joking, I was just trying to help out. go ahead an rate my karma down if it makes you feel better, it wasn't a very funny joke.

You should get your favorite song tatoo'd in cursive under, like Cosmic Charlie would look sick, or China Doll

jeez, a little touchey. He wasn't insulting you at all, just saying that he was joking. unless your being sarcastic. then my sarcasm meter is broken

you should get one of the dancing bears skiing and name that one grateful shred. BTDUBS.that tattoo is sick

They def. aren't enjoyed by everyone. I like to think that it takes a refined music enthusiast to appreciate the Grateful Dead, even though it doesn't.

So sick man, look at my picture ha, i love the dead. im sitting at home right now with my house stereo system blasting of a concert in 73' in Boulder. Although I wasnt old enough to experience jerry in concert I have made my way to 3 dead concerts in the past 2 years. Rothbury being the best. I really hope the do a suprise tour or at least a few stops this summer. So im stoked on the tattoo. In my ceramics class im going to do a slab project of just 5 bears all about 6 inches tall different colors all dancing in different ways. And you really either like the dead or you dont. Its just a completely different kind of music. They just get up on stage and jam, nothing weird like kiss or anything just a couple of guys that love getting high and putting out great music. So many backround sounds and beats that you dont even hear until you listen to them high.especially with the two drummers.

C.davis those ceramics sound pretty dope. Glad to see some GD Family on NS too. All of you none experiencers have to go check out Furthur, they're spot on and Phil and Bobby have done great "casting" some young blood. John K just sends you to Space.
And, I am skier, no time to get tan HA HA. Hopefully I'll get some color in ME at Nateva fest!

livtoski........ priceless, thanks for that "gem" of picture from awsomo, no comment needed. Big surprise Junior quad XXL vest isn't a huge fan of the Dead. Maybe someday his mind will be opened. I'll cross my fingers for his sake.
Plus K to both of you gentleman.
Thanks

The whole Furthur tour just kept getting better. I have a feeling I am going to enjoy listening to the East coast tour better then seeing the few phish shows on the West coast. Except for Furthur fest, should be a sweet festival.
