Ski Hill Proposed for Nelson

Nelson is in the middle of planning a ski resort above the town. It is destined to be one of the largest ski resorts in north america. There could be 12 lifts, 3 gondolas, 6000 acres of skiable terrain, and 5100 vertical feet of skiing. They are trying to get it going by 2008. And that is fuckin awesome.

The only enemy agaist progression is FEAR!

Isnt it gonna be called a-basin or somethig? and will it be open year-round? By the way thats sick.

They haven't named it yet. It IS in BC. and it is going be opening all year ...with biking and all. My dad is part of the planning commitee so he has the topography maps and all.

What kind of schools do they have down there? I'm looking for places to move to when I'm out of high school. But 2008 isn't soon enough for me :(

fuck that sounds sweet. 5100 feet of vertical, it will be like whistler, except with better snow. I can't wait

I feel bad for people who don't drink, cause when they wake up in the morning, thats the best the're going to feel all day
 
They were planning a similar size one for Brohm Ridge, (Squamish) but I havent heard anything about it for a couple of years. I did a project on it and got all the plans, it was going to be like 20 lifts huge village etc. But I think they realized the snow at that level may be unpredictable with global warming and they may have just not raised enough money. Was going to be called Garibaldi at Squamish.

 
they alreayd got whitewater and that place rules. man dont ruin nelson with some super mountain. whistlers great and all but another $100 dollar a day lift ticket mountain cant be had. Plus isnt there a national park there or something, I really hope this never goes through

lol Nelson already has a ski hill. White Water. I see no reason why they would build a new one when they can upgrade the one they already have

 
Uh, thats probably what they are doing, building on whitewater, or whatever. But fo rthe people that live there, its irrlevant how much it costs, because yoiu just buy a seasons pass.
