Ski Help

I bought some 179cm Faction prodigy 4.0s a few months ago and I grew 4 inches since then (I'm now 5'10) should I try and sell them and get bigger ones or is 179 good enough for a big mountain comp skier?

Since you said you're a big mountain comp skier i'm gonna assume you prefer to ski fast and go big. IMO I think your current setup will suffice, but won't be optimal. I'm 5'10 and my pow/freeside skis are 188 and 116 underfoot and personally I wouldn't go any shorter. They float super well in pow and are very stable when skiing fast or going big. I've tried shorter skis and they start to feel sketchy when I'm skiing fast or when I'm in deep snow.

If I were in your situation I would try to get some longer skis, but if you don't want to go through the hassle of selling them I think you will still be fine.

I think I’m gonna try to find some longer ones, thanks for the help.

For a big mountain comp you would want stiff long skis. A heavy narrow pair too for firm conditions.

Are you actually a big mountain comp skier?? Not trying to hate just genuinely curious, where do you ride?
