Ski game in the making

Project manager here,

If you all are willing to wait, me and a few friends saw all the ns game threads lately and are starting work on a ski game based on either the source or unreal 3 engine.

Asking from input from other ski/programmers that want to be involved.

Karma might speed up the progress =D

mini game: Surface Ski Collaboration VS. Ninthward Ski

Surface's Finishing Move: "Slash Slash Slash" three slashes from a burly Watch Life.

Ninthward's Finishing Move: "Bang" just fuckin shoot him.

Level 2: 4FRNT VS. Salomon

4FRNT's Finishing Move: "We Are More Core Than You" Sterbenz lands on you. game over.

Salomon's Finishing Move: "Text Voting" Votes are in, Salomon wins.

secondary attack: "G-Suit Swarm" opponent annihilated by a tidal wave of similarly colored fabric, gang gestures and what the fuckery.

We're planning on making this into a skate-inspired, full-fledged game.

One thing I can say is that the replay editor will turn you into eheath.

*sigh*

stop getting peoples hopes up for a real ski game similar to Skate... its not going to happen unless a proper game design company is making it.

what qualifications to you have that would make you able to create a ski game? Do you have the rescources for this? a studio? please dont get my hopes up if it's something you cant really do
If you have all that stuff, AWESOME.

This project has no affiliation with Jib Life. Jib Life is being developed by our studio.

Cheers to you guys for giving it an effort.

Naturally I'm skeptical because I don't want to put all my hopes in someone I don't know at all and have them let me down. On the other hand I really do hope this is legit and will happen, just as with I'm skeptical of the EA skiing game thread, but still hope it happens. I think the reason people don't believe it is because we don't want to be let down.

It's not that I'm saying this isn't going to happen, because it can.Anything can if you put your mind to it and have the know how, but I don't want to get all pumped on something that might not happen...Is that not reasonable?

Is this a joke? Are you just trying to get karma? You and a FEW friends are going to make a ful fledged ski game that will be in stores? I don't buy it. But, Good Luck.

make it GTA style, sandbox. There is obviously a mountain part, and whatever all the cliche boring shit that is always in all the snowboarding or ssx games. (minus the swinging your shit around like a weirdo.) BUt do it right, have an open mountain(s) to run around on, hike, chairlift, shovel, hack down trees to make jibs... a little skate style move shit around to make your own obstacles.

but then, make a big ol city or town to unlock and that you can buy a ladder and build a drop in and go jib, slide rails, drop, slide walls, be super core and urban, you know... like we do. maybe you have to steal a van, and beat other crews to spots in online? who knows.

just dont bother if youre going to make it boring and the same as stoked or shaun white... its just boring, no coin collecting, no stupid non related objectives, just make it shreddable and fun, and maybe with some zombie head tapping. oh and lastly, finishing moves are a must.

Armada vs Moment

whoever is smugger wins.

I'm calling bullshit. Why would you make the mistake of listing possible game engines in your first post?

If it is not bullshit, then you simply don't have your act together quite yet.

I'll apologize, my posts up until now have been affected by the excitement I have about helping to make this game. I can guarantee that NS does not want this game in anyone else's hands.

There's been about 2 days of early development planning. I was only asking for people to message us ideas they want to see in the game.

I never said I wanted this to be on store shelves. We hope to have this game ready and distributable online within 3 years.

I am on the team and needless to say, there is still much to learn. however, we are interested in making this happen and have some pretty motivated people working on it.

I sure do hope you suceed. The skiingworld needs a good game, any hint upon such is welcome. At least you have my thumbs up.

2011-2009=2, so are you 2 thirds of the way done? i expect a fully detailed and descriptive progress report on my desk by next monday, or you're fired. Even if you do get the report in on time, you still will probably be fired.
