Ski for Dad

Alright so my dad is 50 and still going hard. He is looking for something that he can take in the powder and have fun with it, but still ski groomers once in a while. He is 5' 11" and about 180lbs. He looked at JJ's and a Line EP model. Any sugestions. Something about 110-115 underfoot. Doesnt matter if its rockered.

JJs will be way better on groomers then the EPs. The EPs will probably be a bit better in the deep deep light pow. I own JJs but Ive never rode EPs. My JJs kill everything from groomers to pow. They will probably be better for you dad because they are way stiffer then the EPs which are noodles.

I was thinking about picking up a pair myself, solid ski all around, and my dad loves it

I second this statement, it's a bit skinnier than what you are looking for (100 underfoot if I remember correctly), however, the bamboo core is really strong and stable, but still has a lot of energy and play in it.
Also, consider ON3P Wrenegades, also has a bamboo core, and is right around the waist you're looking for.

Lots of good choices to look at in here. I would steer clear of EP pros and JJ's, neither one is likely to suit your dad's taste by what you described. He probably wouldn't like them on groomers. Take a look at the Volkl Mantra. I thought that was an excellent all around ski and it fits in well with a lot of skiing styles.

take a look at line blends they are really good in powder and on groomers. next years also has early rise which will be a nice addition to an already awesome ski.

EP's wouldn't but JJ's would, they have rocker in the tips and tails, and camper underfoot. also they are a pretty stiff ski. Every review says that they rip everything from powder to crud to groomers. also maybe this years seth's.

you probably should've titled the thread "Skis for my dad" instead of making me think your dad had an issue and i was supposed to "ski for your dad" but get some seths can't go wrong there

the ep pros are 127 under foot so theyre fatter than your looking for..look at some bacons or some obsethed's-theyre a little skinnier but theyve got some early rise that will make them float nice
