Ski for beginner:Chronic,Domain or something other?

Hello,

i need a new ski, im a good skier but just a beginner with freestyle skiing...

I hope you can help me!

I need a ski which is good in park, to grind alot but still can handle some jumps...nothing crazy, just small-medium jumps i think...

It should work also for some Allmtn, it should can handle some little powder, i think i ride about 15% Powder....

Can you help me to decide one? I found the Line Chronic, which should be good for Allmtn, and the Domain who should be one of the best Park skis...

Have you other good skis for a beginner?

Merlin

libe chronic sounds good. they are great for all mountain and also great in the park. (If you watch the line edits people almost always use the in park) they are also pretty wide so you will have that extra support. i really have no idea how the chronic is in powder...

chronic over the domain, because your not always going to be in the park, the chronic will suit you better. Both solid skis tho, it's awesome because no one really makes a bad ski these days.

Hey guys!

Thats sound nice...

Thank you very much...

Just one important thing:

I can buy the K2domain with a Griffon 13 for only 280.- Euros, unfortunaley the Chronic cost more than 450.- Euros...

You say both are good, is it bad or wrong if i take the Domain because its cheaper?

And with whitch bindings should i go? Griffon 13?

Im a beginner and only 110 pounds...

And i still grow up, i dont buy new ski boots, i borrow some, is that okay, too?

Regrets, Merlin

I would say put your money in to some decent boots and borrow skis. Good boots are what make skiing better. With crappy rental boots your day can be completely ruined. If you have access to a good bootfitter ask what size and recommendations.

Im not saying go to the store and buy new Full tilts but a well fitted used boot will work great for you. This way you wont be buying new boots every year and wasting money.

If I was in your situation where I had to choose between personal skis or personal boots I'd pick boots every time.

Thank you very much! I think i make that! I buy the cheap Domain (or a used Iron Maiden Revival for the same price, im not sure which one), and go in a store...

Should i just try some boots and pick this, which fits best on my feet?

Greetings

Get fitted for boots first. Let your boot fitter know what kind of budget you're working in and the boot fitter should be able to help.

Hello ;)

Thank you for your help, i think i buy some good boots...

At the moment ive enough money, to choose between the Domain or an Iron Maidel Revival, same prize... what do you suggest for me? And why?

Hey :)

Im 170,15years old (still growing) and 110pounds, thats 50kg...

Ive access to Line,K2,Armada, Rossignoll, Volkl, and other things...I live in Switzerland ;)

How much money can you spend?

I would choose the revival if you are going do ski alot of allmountain. They are more of a directional ski. If you are going to ride most in the park at rails, jibs and small jumps i would pick the domain. They are symmetrical, softer and more playful.

If you gonna go with good boots and want a cheaper twin tip for park and the rest of the mountain I say pull the trigger on those used Iron maiden skis.

There a good ski. If you can get them in size 179 thats really good. If they are size 174 thats on the short size but could work. Would not go smaller than that.

Things to consider if buying used park skis:

Make sure it's not too beat up. You know what bad skis look like Im assuming. Things on park ski to check are the edges under the foot. If they were using it on rail they will be beat up (thats common on park skis) but shouldn't be destroyed or about to fall off. Edges should be checked all the way around just to be sure of condition. Double check the binding if it's used. WIth a binding thats been used in the park they can get damaged easier than normal skiers binding. Just get it tested at shop.

Hope this helps. If you got more questions just keep posting.

Yeah, thank you very much ;)

The sky are already selled, but it isnt bad, thank you for the explain... i note it for next time ;)

I think i buy domains with a griffon 13 (other suggestions)? and good skiboots ;)

oh shit, the domains are still availible in 169, thats to short, isnt it?

Thank you for you help!

Gre

Okay, if 169 is okay, i buy te 11/12 domains with a Salomon st12... if it is too small, i can decide between a domain 12/13 or a punx... but theyre more expensive... oh its so difficult!
