Ski flex for butters

**This is a preference not trying to start any arguments just wondering what others think

Iv done butters on numerous pairs of skis ranging in flex but I personally find a mid flex ski with a stiff underfoot to be the best for butters. While they are harder to initiate, once you get up on the noses it is much easier to control and don’t just smear. I rode the multiple pairs of the arv 96ti zeros which were a touch stiffer than the regular arv 96 and they were one of my favorite skis for butters. You could press super hard way up on the tips and get a nice snap out of them. Super predictable. The mango 100s I’m on now are similar, much softer up in the tip but still solid support under foot. Iv also found that skis that flex more from underfoot are the worst for butters and the least predictable. I often find that the skis I like most for butters are the skis people say are too stiff or are hard to butter. What is your opinion? Do y’all like a mid flex ski, a flexy ski, one that’s flexes from underfoot or from the tip? And why do you prefer that flex pattern?

Honestly I love the mid flex ski has the stability but still playful. Loved my filthy riches and the magnus 102 now on a set of moment Frank's and man those things are a riot.

i personally like a flexy ski, pivoting around from my noses to my tails is a blast for me and i feel better on soft skis

Always wanted to try a pair of moments. What are the ups and downs of them?

Honestly first year on them. Rocker is not as abrupt as on3p but once the underfoot is shot they have triple camber to help with that. Honestly I wouldn't go back to on3p. I know I'll get hate for saying that but it's true. I haven't had negative thoughts on it. I will say it's in my top ten skis that I have owned. Talk to josie over at moment she hooked me up on a killer deal that on3p couldn't compete with at all as well.

Dope! Good to know. Thanks homie?

Bamboo rebounds when pressured hence its popularity. I would define that as the #1 defining characteristic of bamboo. That’s why you see ON3P, Vishnu, liberty, even sone moments with bamboo. Many companies have used bamboo. I have some pure bamboo skis and they have some wicked rebound

*and it’s damp

Still waiting for my 4 year old Poachers to soften up enough to butter them like Joona Kangas can

My poachers took 3 years and turned into noodles its actually hilarious, they are softer than my ON3P’s and I got the soft flex for them lol

My Edollos have been amazing for butters. I always say its super flexy but strong at the same time. Whatever dollo was on making those skis hes a fuckin genius they are so fun

Bamboo is such a amazing material for skis, and interestingly it doesn't really fit in the common damp/playful dichotomy because it somehow feels like kinda both when you ski it. But I think that more has to do with things not always correlating to on snow feel the way we think they do.

Same here but I also do not weigh anything so that might help for that, I feel like it's all just preference tho

I got some new ones last season to replace my first gen edollos, one thing that’s very noticeable is they take a lot longer to break in. I’ve got them feeling good finally but for a while I hated them. Plus the 2.5 “impact” edge seems to crack easier then the thinner edge on the OG dollos. If anybody could hook me up with some honeycomb edollos, hit my line
