somewhere in the northeast. The Dartmouth outing club had a alot to do with shaping skiing into what it is today. Buy Epoch from meat head its got a ton of great history.
 
it was in pomfret vermont, its not around anymore though, the ski area i work at is in the same town, so the have a whole wall of the history junk
 
very true, and apparently first skiers where in china or mongolia, i read an article in some magazine this fall
