Okay well first of all the editing isn't that great, its not too bad. I dont have much experience editing so I cant give you many tips, but tons of people on here could

the skiing was actually pretty good... you mountain looks to have a good park. What mountain is it?

poles would be a fine investment.
but try more angles, film when its sunny out , watching an edit with overcast weather is gets boring unless the skiing is dope. if you are gonna use footage from overcast days mess with the brightness levels so it isnt as grey and boring. your text is kinda gay not gonna lie, try more creative stuff.

editing is an art, so be as creative as you can, produce in a beter quality or get a better camera cause the shitty quality takes away frrom the edit. make it shorter if your gonna have the same shit over and over.

where were the poles?

honestly though. pretty sick. the dude in the green killed it. he's going to be a monster once he is older.

Sorry about the quality, but if you watch it straight off vimeo, its a lot better. About the overcast days, we ski Crabbe Mountain, on the Canadian East coast, so a beautiful sunny day, is pretty rare.

good first try.

but vary your angles alot more. experiment as much as you can, use tracking shots, stationary shots, panning shots, follow.

the editing was fine but really basic. keep working on that.

invest in a good tripod and a lens.

try to use angles that arent dead on eye level, like you were on the rails. shoot from below or above. rule of 3rds, all that good stuff.

and seriously

http://www.studiodaily.com/main/minisites/adobepremiere/f/mtutorials/6583.html

watch that. please.

but keep at it.

(I did watch this on your vimeo page)

-solid edit

-impressive riding from everyone

-liked the song

-not sure what went on in the editing at :15 & :17

-as everyone else has said, different angles, maybe try to edit to the beat a little more

-try working on the titles to make them more interesting, for instance starting off blurred and getting clearer

good stuff

yupwhat he said on the filmingskiing was actually really good, keep at it!editing was alright... what are you using? if you have a mac i highly recomend getting a copy of final cut express or propretty mellow learning curve and has a really great interface

well done, thought the music went well with the skiing, some dope rail tricks too

as for the editing, u couldve used some followcams, all the tripod shots got pretty boring towards the end, also couldve used some transitions between each shot, dont kno what editing system you use but wash in's, cross dissloving, and overlapping r all good ways to make the edit flow better, lastly, every shot was pretty gray, sorta hurt the vibe but u cant control the weather so maybe invest in a new camera with better colors

You guys are so silly. They are so ahead of time without those poles. It's just snowblading influencing freestyle skiing, don't hate. For real, just rock whatever, if no poles is good, then go no poles. I don't mind the no poles style on skis. You guys are pretty good though, you're so lucky to have a nice park though. I'm jealous, unless it's the east, you have no pow :(

The editing was okay. If you want to really sell someone on your stuff, I recommend a tripod. Editing and filming skills will come with time though, don't worry. I've got a ways to go too. Too bad I'm too lazy to film or edit. Place these critique vids in Media & Arts.

1:10 was sick.
as for tips, cut out the stuff where people are falling off rails before the end. unless you've got a shot of a gnarly bail followed by a shot of someone stomping it, which i don't remember seeing. keep the edit shorter and just use the very best. you could probably cut this almost in half, which would improve the quality a ton. and listen to everyone else about sunny days and different angles.

Ok, awesome will do. Keep the tips coming though, the more help we get, the sicker our edits will be next year. All your help is great.

Man, this is some pretty dope skiing! I like the no pole (many would disagree), it goes well with you guy's style. Keep it up, and I enjoyed the editing!

preatty good skiing but you need to very your angles iknow every one is saying that but it is very inportant because seeng all the tricks from the same place gets vary boring other than that try to film on sunny days.

jeez people are really slamming you guys about overcast days and no poles. Honestly i thought it was a dope edit and its not like you guys do this for a living so you cant just ditch whatever you are doing to make those few sunny days so dont worry about it, if it bothers people that much then thats their problem. With better quality it would have been better but it really wasnt that bad. Good song choice and no poles is a preference so do what feels good. All in all great edit

no they are skiing. just because they arent using poles doesnt mean they arent skiing. its just a different style, like pow and park

Hey I am in this crew (Andre) and just letting you guys know that usually we rock the poles but this edit was filmed in like 3 or 4 days and most of those days were pretty bad (weather) and we just decided to let go of the poles to hike the park.
Thanks for all the tips and we were wondering what kind of video cam should we get next year to improve are edits and stuff (around 1000$)?

You can pick up a pretty standard HD home camera that records straight to the hard drive for around $500 US don't waste your time on GL1's or GL2's I did and wish I hadn't they are great if you want to spend time framing a shot and messing with settings. but if you want decent quality and to be able to follow cam just get an HD sony handicam with a hard drive so you don't have to bother with tapes. as for the editing, I'd recomend a better program if you're serious about it. The skiing is pretty rad, keep it up guys.

i thought it was really sick all i can think of is better angles and the use of color correction.

panasonic pv-gs320, has good colors and fairly cheap for a 3ccd camera ($600)

i use this same cam so check my edits if u want to see the quality

For the cam: We are interested in the Canon camcorders (HV20, HV30, HV40...), especially the HV30. Is it worth paying more for the HV30 then the HV20? Is it worth getting a Canon camcorder? What other HD camcorders are there?

Man, this is what I love about NS, kids can put their edits up, and they can can some great help from everyone. It really helps today's young skiing community advance at a faster pace. You kids do great, keep it up.

Good guyz..keep on!!i think having a crew and going ski/jib with them is really important..u have fun..u attempt new tricks and new moves..with friends u can joke while skiing..and they can also give u some advice..so..that's nice..

one thing I noticed is that you film towards the sun a lot and your camera cant process it well so you have a sketchy line in the middle. always avoide filming into the sun
