Ski diet

If you've been eating a nutrient deficient diet for the past month and then the day before you go on a huge tour/hike you eat a good healthy variety of foods that will not instantly make you have super human strength or make you "healthier"

Same goes if you've been eating well for the past month and then the day before a huge tour/hike you don't eat well. The poor food intake the day before isn't going to hurt you.

Diet is a long term thing, not a daily thing. The food you take in over the coarse of months is what determines how healthy and efficient your body runs. It's also what determines your weight. For example, if you eat 4,000 calories in one day, thats not going to make you gain weight. However, if you eat 4,000 calories every day for a few weeks, you will gain weight.

I'm not saying park skiing requires an insanely healthy diet, but a poor diet will help to increase your risk of a deficiency disease. And a deficiency disease can help lead to injuries.

Eating well really makes a big difference to how I feel skiing. Yeah if you don't ski all that much you can get away with no breakfast, noodles etc, but I'd you ski all day everyday, you better at least have enough calories. Quite a few good posts on here already with ideas on what to eat, it's really not that tough.

breakfast- oatmeal with some miked berries, or yogurt+granola+berries

lunch- if your going to be skiing i would just suggest to bring a protein bar so you don't need to stop for lunch and you will have more time to ski... eat it on the chairlift.

then dinner - chicken with some vegetables on the side

Skinny kid attitude!

You'd be surprised how poorly most people eat. It's HARD to get recommended levels of nutrients and vitamins through food alone. Getting five servings of fruits and vegetables is HARD. Granted, I'm in school, and eating well here is tough when you're surrounded by shitty food all the time, but I've been doing a lot better and seeing positive results in my weight/body image and health because of it.

OP, just eat well. Do what you can, and if you have have to sacrifice a "real dinner" for a smoothie or protein shake and two whole grain granola bars, big deal.

Make dinner before you go to class. roll that shit up in a few tortillas. eat that shit whenever you want
