Ski constructions??

As far as I'm aware, i'm sure i'll be proved wrong but, Sandwich = stronger, better flex patterns, harder wearing. But weighty.

CAP = Lighter, reduced swing weight, not as durable, cheaper

Sandwhich- stronger build, easier to repair if damaged (edges), more likely to chip the top sheet

Capped- little lighter, not as strong, harder to fix edge repair, won't chip top sheet

I personally try to go all Sandwhich sidewall, I prefer them, usually means stronger construction, more bombproof

Ive also found most sandwich skis to be a bit stiffer, but that could just be ive only ridden stiff sandwich skis.

sandwich: good flexing, generally heavier.

cap: usually associated with "the torsion box effect," which occurs when the ski is flexing and causes the ski to twist. (its bad) However, cap cunstruction ranges significantly in qhality from bare minimum to high quality. some cap skis delam like no other, but some cap skis hold up better than sandwich due to sandwich's tendancy to get chips on the edges due to sandwich's 90* sidewalls. cap skis are usually lighter and cheaper.
