well most people have only been to one camp, so they cant accurately say, although i would say CoC and High North look the best to me.

From my observations:

High North - Great coaching, great terrain (sounds like it's going to be even better next year.. just a rumour)

Camp of Champs - TONS of rails.. okay jumps.. not as many top level coaches

SMS - Okay terrain, great coaching

I've been to CoC 2 years in a row. Next year I'm considering high north for the following reasons:

More progessive rails....it's ridiculous CoC(k)didn't have any rollercoasters or s-rails...unacceptable, that simple.

level of riders- better riders to push myself with

my group at CoC this year...half of them were learning 5's, while the other half was working on corks, switch corks, and d's.

just an observation, but it seemed that High North wasn't really orderly or together on stuff like food and what not, the terrain looks dope. I'd suggest SMS beacuse the coaches are amazing and the tarrain is getting bigger and better each year, they also have 2 lanes and not just one like most camps. but they are really on top of everything cuz they have someone who isn't a pro skiier organize things so it works really well and the hotel is awesome, its all SMS campers so no one cares if your loud or anything so check SMS and i think its a little cheaper

the magazine is called 'POWDER' cool! - my stupid non-skiing friend

high north was really organized on food, they give you a dinner schedule and a map of where the resturaunts are. Also when they pick you up at the airport there are 2 big guys in green high north shirts waiting for you to show you to the bus, you cant miss them.

Here is my take on ski camps. Every single person I have talked to who went to camp said it was the best week of thier life. I really think every camp has something different to offer, so all you have to do is some research and go to the camp that suits you best. For me, Empire sounds best due to all the different terrain that you cannot find in a park.

^ to tell you the truth, I'd say CoC or Windell's from everything I know...and i've done a shitload of research. Both are very catered to the beginner skier...yes, as well as the advanced. but the population of 'novice' skiers is much higher at these camps. well, the population of skiers PERIOD are higher at these camps.

you can also look into some of the real small camps that share lanes, along with Dave Murray Ski Camp.

a REAL important question is : are you interested in moguls or not.

lotsa people isnt good tho. less attention from coaches

well, if you are looking for big mountain as well as a killer park, empire has some sick big mountain. there are a ton of different lines to ski, and there are also cornices. and when i was there on june 23, it started snowing, and there was fresh POWDER.

yeah it snowed a little bit at empire when i was there to, it was crazy to be skiing in june in a tank top, under the sun, then it starts to snow on ya.... ive never experienced weather like that
