Ski Camp for Newbie

I know this issue gets hit on a ton, but yeah... anyways... I know all the camps are great, but for a true beginner that can't ride rails for crap and can only throw 180's and awkward homo looking 3's where would be my best bet to go? Dave Murray's? I need good instruction, so I think COC is outta the question. Where do I go to get more information, dates, and prices and such.

Go to High North. They have beginner terrain that will help you learn the basics. The camper to coach ratios are great for one-on-one stuff and chances are you won't be the only one that wants to learn how to throw solid threes and learn to slide rails. Last summer there were a lot of newschool-beginners that seemed to learn a ton. You can go at your own pace and it's a very relaxed atmosphere.

it's all very exciting.

I live in CO.. so empire doesn't look like it'd be a inconvience to get to since it is in WY.

Does High North have a website?

I'd like to beable to ride rails without fearing for the family jewels...Throw 3's nicely, 5's, 7's, and backs. I think grabs and style can be worked in on my own time. But...does that seem unreasonable for a week at camp?

-Any personal experiences similar to my story?

yeah bro go to Empire Freeride... its real close to you, cheap airfair or car, awesome camp... me and JibRemix went last summer, and this summer is going to be ridiculous, tons of pros, awesome park... if you have any questions just holler

SMS was freakin awesome, they have some more beginner stuff, like a dedicated learning table top that its almost impossible to get hurt on and they start you with rails that are flat on the ground and build once you get the technique down and the coaches are great escpecially douglas hes an amazing coach and great guy. and also whistler is a blast in the summer

the magazine is called 'POWDER' cool! - my stupid non-skiing friend

Hey bro,

I went to High North A long time ago. BUT, It will definately be your best choice if you would like to learn. I wil recommend HN any day with SHANE and the HN crew. Peace out and keep rocking ltitle guy.

So does Empire have like the same kind of beginner stuff like HN... small kickers and low rails? I'd like to keep my nuts while learning, ya know?

hn is the way to go, and the website is on the right side of the page

i think you will always have to worry about the family jewels on a rail

Farp is gods gift to man.

I'm so big

you'd have to jump and swing up

just to hit me in the knees....

yea its prolly a good idea to learn on low rails i did and my guys are ok at least for now

The shit hasnt even begun to hit the fan

Haha...yeah I've seen some guys have a rail slap them on the inside of their thigh numerous times...never in person seen someone get it right on the mark, but yeah... I wouldn't want that to be me.

i have, it wasnt a good sight, but he got back up after 5 min. hahaha

Saturday night and you're still hangin' around

Tired of livin' in your one-horse town

Like to find a little hole in the ground

For a while

So you go to the village in your tie-dye jeans

And you stare at the junkies and the closet queens

It's just like some pornographic magazine

And you smile

Captain jack will get you high tonight

And take you to your special island

Captain jack will get you by tonight

Just a little push and you'll be smilin'

does Empire camp got more than 3rails because I just went on the website and it just saw 3rails on the photo

Ski for yourself, not for the other ¬

SO...does Empire have the beginner stuff like smaller jumps or are they all like monsters? Cuz I suck and I don't want to be learning off some 10ft booter and break myself off the first day....haha

Yeah well I think that was taken wrong... I think empire is gonna be my choice... its so close that I won't have to worry about airfare and all that... when should I think about signing up generally? Does it fill pretty quick?

Givehead- yeah man, ur stupid if u dont go to empire considering where u live..... and the kid about the rails, they had some nice rails last year, like JibRemix said.... that tetor totter was nasty (TGR shit) and this year they are building a bunch more tech rails to beginner rails. The jumps are perfect for any skill level, u can just work your way up... all stars camp had a park too, so both parks are used by both camps... ummm, sick quarter pipe.. this year is going to go off.... go to empire for sure

Session one for Empire Freeride -starting june 15th is filling up. All you need is $600 bucks to hold your spot. I was up on the pass today and the snow looks good.

Yeah I wanna do it. All I gotta do is wait for my sponsors (parents) to give the ok for the $1150..... keeping my fingers crossed boys.
