So I've decided i'm going to head up to Park City from Nz at the end of this year, and since i'm not eligible for a work visa i'm not going to work, just live off the money I save this year. I'm planning on coming from Mid December to the end of March and skiing at PC

I'm posting to ask for info on what typical rent is, how much general food costs and any advice that might be helpful. ++karma for good posts

i suggest looking for apartments in salt lake, it will be wayyy cheaper to live there and drive 20 min to PC everyday, then actually live in park city. also basic living expenses (food)are pretty expensive in park city as well. unless you eat fast food all the time...

cool cheers, really wanting to avoid buying a car though so I'm thinking I'll try to get a place in PC if I can. will it be easy to get a place to crash for under $475 a month? and $60 a week would be easy enough to get by pretty comfortably on food?

its would be difficult to find a safe/clean place for under 475. usually the starting rate is anywhere from $500-$800 and that will include good amenities( furnishing, cable, parking, internet, kitchen etc...). however, if you do your research, you might find something really cheap. also, if you go grocery shopping 60 bones a week is plenty. good luck! PC is amazing. i promise you will love it.

I have lived in park city for the last four years. The rent is more expensive than salt lake altough I have never paid more than 550 for rent and allways found a clean quality house with my buddys. Main steeet park city is way better then the slc if you are into goin out and partying. Look in the parkrecord.com , ksl classisfided and craigslist.

mint, cheers man much appreciated. if you have a couch or something from mid Dec to end of March it'd be awesome if you could pm me hahaha. but thats good to know, stay sane during your summer haha
