Ski breaks- falling switch

Holy fuck, why dont companies step up an make a brake that works for when you fall switch? iknow ive broken mybindings 3 times this way and i broke my friends once too and it makes for unpleasent chases down the hill often followed by searches in the woods for your ski

cause, it would take a whole over haul of the binding and a whole redesign of break mechanism to so so... and that costs money.

DO you think that ski companies want to spend money?

I sure dont. Invent your own, then sell it to salomon, and make your self supreeeeeeee rich!

They don't do it because then you would buy one $50 break that has a spring back mechanism and doesn't break or you could buy 5 to 10 brakes a year at $35 bucks a pop, its fucking gay

my brothers taking an engineering class right now and his project for senior year is to invent something. thats what hes going for.

Once, I had to pay $5 for a brake but I was in a jam. A decent shop will do it for free man.

my shop fixes my brakes for free because they are nice. but yeah right now one of my brakes is sticking out from my ski at a 90 degree angle

No the brakes break, cause when you pop out switch it hits against the brakes the wrong way. I think a double spring/hinge system would work well.

the deadbolts this year were sposed to try and solve the problem.

anyone out there break a brake on a deadbolt.

if you eject going swich the snowbreak comes down and catches the snow and rips the break the wrong way causing it to snap, i broke both in one fall before because of this. Must be nice to have a shop that will do it for free, none in my town had the breaks and they said it would cost 60 to order new ones and put them on

the deadbolts did solve this problem. after breaking 2 pairs of rossi pivots i decided to spring for some dadbolts and ive never had problems with the breaks goin like that like on my rossis

yeah i got scratch bindings and they stick way out there, and there bent to fuck, and some plate inside just broke so the brake dosent work

Trust me shithead my bindings dins are cranked and i rarely crash. if one of my skis comes off switch then brakes are done. maybe if you hit something more than fifteen feet you would understand this problem.

I just broke two brakes in one day, pretty shitty for paying almost $25 for each of them. I'm gonna crank my dins down and see if that solves the problem. I didnt even fall either time it happened, my ski just popped off without notice Where do you find these deadbolts? are they brakes or are they bindings?

ive seen it happen, but its personally never happened to me. I've crashed pretty damn hard switch off of some pretty big jumps, and nothing yet. Usually my ski hooks backwards and just spins around forward

o well

i just broke mine landing switch... broke the whole backplate off along with the break. good excuse to get new skis though. i needed em.
