do ur boots really matter???? like, i have nordica B7, and i rode them las year, and they felt ok. im lokin for a new boot, but i dont want to spend like 400. i want a cheep, functional boot. any thots

 
i found this boot on ebay its so sick.

To answer your question. Boots are the most important part, because if your feet are not comfortable, then your day will be pretty shitty. If you have a narrow foot, look at Tecnica, a wider foot Nordica, and somewhere in the middle for starters try Salomon. Lange makes good stuff as well. I reccommend going to a shop and trying em all on, because nothing will give you a better read than just fitting the perfect boot to your foot. When someone asks me "what is the best boot in the store" I tell them "the one that fits your foot", there is no boot that is perfect for everyone you have to find the right one for you.
 
Recreational? As in, not specific to freeskiing. Sure. As long as you have a nice flex, any intermediate-expert boot that fits you well will work. Unless you are skiing extreme chutes, and need something super specific you will be ok.
