While snowboarding boots are more comfortable than ski boots for walking, it's really a myth that they are like boots or sneakers. They have a good deal of stiffness and support to them and they can make walking pretty awkward too, especially if you get them fitted right (a lot of kids have them too loose because they they they should fit like skate shoes or something).
All in all, I'm satisfied with the ski boot feel, but I must admit I like the way board boots look a whole lot more. I got real excited when I saw the 08 SPK Pro with the leather on it, thinking this would catch on and lots of companies would start doing it. But I heard a lot of people say the leather gets shredded by your edges real fast, and playing with them at the store I saw that the leather is pretty thin. I'd like to see this leather idea get honed a little bit more over the next few years, it really wouldn't be too tough to make a boot that felt like a ski boot inside but looked even more like a snowboard boot or a skate shoe on the outside. The leather and some cooler style/color combinations would go better with most of my outerwear.
