10, 1 to do it, and 9 to say 'I can do that.'

I always converted it on www.rei.com but i dont know if they have an alpine section right now. But I wear a 29.5, and 12 shoe if that helps. So 27 is pry like 10-11.

I got nothin.

Except that boots aren't supposed to be sized like street shoes. Go and try on some boots, you'll see. I wear a 13 shoe, but a 27.5 Salomon. A 10 Lange. None of them are the same size.

Why do you want to convert? Not only are boots meant to fit totally different to shoes, different brands labelled the same size will be different. Even different models of the same brand are different. What are you trying to do anyway?

im looking at some boots and they are salomon and they are 27, i wanna know if theyll fit me

You have to try them on. If they are over the net go into a shop that stocks them and try them on. I take it your feet are quite wide in the toe area. What model?

you dont need a chart, little trick that works for the most part is add the two numbers together, but i am not suggesting that you use this method to buy boots with out trying them on first, always try a boot on first. so heres how to do it

example

size 27 boot

2+7=9

size 9 street shoe

size 28.5 boot

2+8.5=10.5

10.5 street shoe

size 30 boot

2+10=12

size 12 street shoe

now this doesnt nessicarly mean that certian boots are certain sizes, cuase im a 12 size shoe, which by that way of adding means i should be in a 30 boot, but im in a 28.0, just depends on your fit

Uh, are you sure that is right? a 9 equals a 27?

Yup, he's right, it's simple addition, but all these boots are manufactured differently. Low volume, high volume, etc... So a good rule of thumb is try it on.

thats how i was taut, its strictly just a rule of thumb tho. some boots diffintly fit differant tho. you can also work a boot to fit too, currently i ride 28.0's, but i bet if i buy 27 shells, blow them out, and cut some liner out i could fit. remember, im a size 12 street shoe...

you can add em together or subtract 18 from the number: 27-18=9. But in general ski boots run smaller than street shoes by at least a size (you should want them fitting pretty tight anyway). and the different boot volumes changes that even more.

'Because it's there...'
