i think that ski boarding is horrible, and no, its not because of the fact that im mad that i cant do any good tricks on skis - well okay it is, but it is mainly because of the fact that anyone who uses them are gay. certain people still in the closet may ask, 'why diss skiboarding?' well, my gay friend, you see ski boarding insults freeskiing. no one really knows why, or has any answers, it just does. one time i was on the lift with a ski boarder and he started to talk to me. what is he trying to do, i thought, hit on me? i hate all of these stupid skiboarders who act all nice then ski board. they ruin everthing. i think that they all should be shot.

Actually, you are so wrong I could kill myself, and I soon will. Skiboards were little-skis, then they put twin tips on them later. So do not give them any credit. And I realized how gay it was, but there is still a guy with the name Canonrider who is on this site and it hurts me that he is polluting the site with his faggishness.

Ya ski-boarding sucks. What sucks more is how salomon snaked the idea from levinthal. I won't name any names, but they puton the 'world snowblade championships' at Tremblant back in the day and a few of todays pros strapped in for a shot at $1,000. Question is, how much would you have to be paid to snowblade in public?

You guys really gotto give this whole skiing and skiboarding feud a rest. First of all, before even talkin about what u ride, ask yourself why you ride. let me guess most of u skiiers ride because u like to ride, wow that is the same reason skiboarders ride skiboards.

This whole thing is really childish. i'm not here to say skiboarding is better then skiing or anything. they are 2 different ways to get down the hill and just like snowboarding and skiing you can't compare them.

Kangaroo_Boy went on about how they get in the way, of course there is gonna be riders that are new and just starting and don't know what they are doing. well i was just at mont saint sauveur friday and i went off the jump there planning on doing a 180 as i came off the lip of the jump I saw a skiier standing right in the middle of the landing looking down at the rail. i tried slowing my rotation so i only landing 90 ended up takin him down and breakin his pole. looks like skiiers can get in the way to.

you guys say skiboarding is really easy. sure it might be easy to throw tricks but ever try landing them, anyone who says skbioarding is easy next time you see a skiboarding demo give em a try, go find the biggest jump you can do on skiis and do all your tricks first try, since it is skiboarding you shoulnd' thave a problem landing them all with lots of style(since you haters think that they are so easy you should prolly be able to add a nother 180 or even do all your tricks unnaty).

I'm not saying that skiboarding is better but here are a couple tricks skiboarders were doing before skiiers do(and i know your gonna say they were prolly on small jumps or something but here are just the ones done at the last winter core games on the exact same big air jump tanner, mike nick and jon olsson tied in hte finals cause they didn't want to ride anymore out of respect for a skiboarder that really hurt himself at the comp.

skiboarding was in the x games first and the only reason they got cancelled was because companies like salomon and dynastar dropped their funding fos skiboarding to focus on skiing.

now i really don't give a shit about this whole feud i just think its really childish, and i think the gabbler should be used for usefull discussions.

I used to do pretty well at skiboarding comps, i was fully hooked up with product, incentives and money to travel. I got to go all over the world, california, england, all over new england, bc and japan all for skiboarding. then the competition aspect of skiboarding died so now i ski and i've started to make a bit of a name for myself in the ski world just like so many other skiboarders that you guys all love watching in ski movies and comps ever year.

lastly, if you like skiing, ski, if you like skbioarding, skiboard. and if you so narrow minded that you can't accept a sport that is similar to your own you are the one who should be hung.

I was in the petting zoo, or as I like to call it, the touch me zoo this afternoon. All the animals were retarded. Some lady was breast feeding her baby on a bench nearby, an obvious signal. I sat down uncomfortably close to her and yawned my arm around her shoulder. In her attempt to squirm away, she dropped her baby on the ground. I pretended I was concerned for a second, then I punted it over the fence. She still didn't seem interested in me. Whatever.
 
^ you're a fucking idiot. people dont do tricks on those gay cross country rollerblades. skiboarding is gay because the learning curve is so short that any 6 year old kid with down syndrome can pick them up and get down the mountain his first day. he can probably throw a 3 on his second. skiing is waaay more different than anything else because it is so much more technical. its one thing to get down the mountain, but it will take years before you can ski and look good doing it. same with jumps. any ballsy kid can throw a 1080, but it takes a lot more talent to throw a 540 with a lot of style. plus you cant ski moguls with skiboards, which automatically makes them gay.

I dont truly hate them, but one must admit it looks gay when compared to skiing and snowboarding. And the reason skiboarders suck is that most of them start skiing when they get better.

Andy, great post, too bad most of these people haven't read anything that long at any point in their narrowminded scapegoating lives. You guys give freeskiing a bad name the same way snowboarders were a bunch of pricks before the NS movement started. Andy Stewart is right, just look at all your favoutite skiiers, they were all skiboarders at one time, skiboarders turn out to be the smartest most stylish skiers on the earth, look at mike nick, he started one of the largest streetwear companys in the industry, and Eric pollard, one of the most stylish skiiers on the planet, Chris Turpin, Fakie pipe rider extrodinare, Innack B, one of the best rail sliders in the the world, so all of these skiiers are very good people and have no real reason to have you guys talk shit about them, they skiboard for the same reason you ski, and you should respect them for that, jsut like how we respect snowboarders

skiboards can go through moguls(maybe not as fast as skiers but it is not skiing)

skiboards can go through powder(both times i've been to japan I rode through chest deep powder)

skiboards can hit jumps bigger(this was proven in my other post but maybe i should add that jonny decesere from pbp said that brinton and i were doing the most progressive tricks at the core games on the very same jump that dropped 15ft and was about 75ft long)

and about double backs you go right ahead and do ur doubles i'm not much for huckin tricks

and to killy802, what r u trying to prove. look at all the posts of people just starting skiing and doing 360s and shit maybe they don't have so much style but they are starting. it takes time on anything to get good style. and really just look at eric pollard, he is one of if not the most stylish rider out there and he started on skiboards so it is possible to have style on skiboards.

the funny thing is your biggest defence to why skiboarding is gay is it just looks gay. wow you guys really had to think hard for that one. if you don't like skiboarding don't skiboard.

I bet half if not all of you guys haven't even tried skiboarding, and to those who have and are callin it gay, guess your gay to cause u've skiboarded before.

Have you seen any of the newest Rollerblade videos. skaters are doing some of the craziest stuff now. It's very much like skiing, they go off jumps, gaps, rails. Skiing and Rollin are progressing so much now, just like skiing is slowly getting more or equal coverage as snowbaording, rollerblading will soo also get the same coverage. just watch

Hey, I never said that all skiboarders looked gay, although I did make it seem that way. The problem is that unless you are frekin awesome, it will not look very good. And Canonrider, I am sorry for the name thing, if you are sposored that is a different story. In fact, I have a pair of Heritages in my room right now. I was a skiboard whore, in the sense that I thought skiboarding would make a comeback, and it was cool being different than everyone else. But after awhile I realized the ridicule I suffered at the park was not worth it, and that is why I started skiing. However, I only rag on skiboarding cuz I know what many kids dont: it is not as cool as you think. Granted, for those who tear it up it looks pretty good, but there is alot of denial going on in the skiboard community. There is a reason some of the bigger companies pulled support from skiboarding, and that is because the future is in skiing.

The people that say rollerblading is gay and havent seen any videos shouldnt be taken seriously.

Same as skiboarding. In MMVM it has the sickest skiboarding I have ever seen. Even though I am mostly focusing on skiing this year I will still be skiboarding once and a while mostly for the feeling of liberty. You can take those little bastards anywhere you want (even pow), make a quick change in the middle of your run, of just hit some rails rollerblading style.
