Ski base wax / rails

I was waxing my buddies skis that he has ridden all of this season on rails

he never waxed the skis before

I noticed the skis weren’t taking any wax underfoot

is it possible to get base burn from rails or did I wax his skis too hot?

I always set the iron at 245f and keep the iron moving

I also rub wax all over the base before I start

I did do a lot of passes underfoot on these for the second coat tho to try and make the wax get in there because it felt super dry after scraping
