Ski bags

What is up NS!?! So here's the deal: I need a ski bag, and my skis are 181cm long. The thing is though, I don't know whether I need a padded bag, or just a sleeve. The padded bags are twice the price but do they make that much of a difference? I will be flying with the skis and going on a bus trip so would it be stupid to go for a unpadded bag, or does the padding not make that much of a difference?

I don't necessarily need wheels since I'll be packing the rest of my gear in my suitcase. I just need something to put my skis in so they don't get screwed up in transit.

So what would people recommend? Padded or unpadded? Any bags that are particularily good?

THANK YOU

If you are traveling with anything less than a nice padded bag, your skis will be destroyed. Fact. Spend the money on a nice bag and your even more expensive equipment (your skis) will be protected.

I suspected that might be the case, thank you for clarifying!

I want a douchebag! My skis are the Head JO Pro and I've got his poles too so the bag would complete the set! If only I had €200 to drop on a ski bag...

I got a bag for free when I bought a pair of skis from tramdock, and it is not padded at all and does the job just fine. I just always make sure to wrap the skis with a blanket to give some extra cushion.
