Hey, im from AK, but have ben stationed on the east coast for last 2 years now gettn stationed in so cal, tryin to find if theres anything thats close enough to San Diego to go riding at over the weekends if i get them off. Thanks

mammoth is a bit out of your reach as its about 370 miles ish? from where you are

but big bear and mountain high are significantly closer... prob within 100 miles

Come up to Mammoth. You won't regret it. And probably easy to find some other people to ride up with and split lodging/gas with.

bear is like a two hour drive from san diego... super legit rails and jibs, fun times on weekends too when all the la girls roll up

Bear is just about the only place for you. Mt High is a gaperfest, and snowsummit is flat as pie.
Mammoth is like 7-8 hours though... so unless youre going to have a car full of others to ride up with, then fuck that... gas is too much for that unless youre straight made of green.

Haha ya deff not made of skrilla on mill pay. Thanks for the info deffnitly hittn up mammoth if i got a long weekend.

Mammoth is actually 6 hours from where you're at going 70-75mph. My mom lives in Fallbrook on the backside of pendleton and it never takes longer than 6 to get there when I go home.

Bear is cool for rails and jumps and what not but avoid it on weekends. To little area and way to many people. Half hour lift line wait times at least. The same can pretty much be said for Mt. High.

I am moving back to SD in a few days but will be up in Mammoth all season long whenever I want to ski. I feel the drive is longer but it's also easier on you mentally. You arrive feeling alot less taxed than the twisty roads up to Bear. Plus the mountain is way bigger and the parks are insane. I'd rather drive a little further and get to ski some rediculous stuff than ski Bear any day.

just my .02

Bear/Summit. You could do Mt High but Bear is a lot better and I heard from SD its like almost the same distance cause you are on the other side of the mountain range or some shit. Plus at Bear one lift ticket is good for both resorts. Pendleton is in a really nice area its right by the ocean.

Check out Mt Baldy this winter. You will be stoked if you like steeps and chutes. Not a "park" mountain like Big Bear, but freeride/ big mountain... yes!!Welcome man!right on-

Yo, being from Tahoe area I know how it is to need to ski. Go to bear or summit but just beware its not always good. Do what I do, Surf. It gets good down here especially in the winter. If you need a buddy to surf with hit me up on here
