ski area for sale !

how about just building a nice park first THEN buy the lifts. you can just have people hike up, it ain't that bad. but i don't think you'll get so much business that way because most people that bring in all the money for mountains are rich old people with tons of kids and leisure skier people. i don't think someone like my mom would want to hike up something. but good luck building it.

that would kick ass. we should serously do this. we could charge like $15 and just get volinteres to help keep up the park and stuff. I would think that some of the newschool ski companies would sponcer it for sure! we would probably need to buy the land first though (or leise it or whatever) or mabey we could get taner hall or some other pro to buy us it or mabey help out a little with the cost anyway (if it is good enough that is)

I want to try that sometime once I go to college and get a job and all that jazz.

I would love for something like this to happen. My old man always talks about how he would like to open just a small place after he retires, you know with a rope, maybe a t bar, but I think it would be awesome just get a sick park and a small lodge, you know? someday it will happen

Wow, skiing has reached a new low, the idiocity of this idea blows my mind. Like seriously, what in the world makes you think that any of you could be unlazy enough to actually raise money. It's not going to happen, im so happy that i was the one to puncture the whole in this dead seal carcass.

hey my dad told me about a year ago that when he was younger, he and a couple of his friends almost bought a ski resort, because they were really good friends with the owners, and they could get it for a really good price!! oh man how cool would that have been?...that would meen I could live there ski there and be there when ever I want..that is like a dream!! Why couldnt he have done it?!

iti s possible, someone who is lik ea pro welder could just make the rails all day for like 1 year, make rails non stop, and this would be pretty cheap too, and then you'd have like 50 rails in one park, it'd be sick., all you woudl need is some sort of hill

Mount whitney already has a t-bar that at least worked 4 years ago. We could probably fix it. The losge I beleave burned down, but come on we don't need anything special. Pitch a big fucking tent with some space heaters. I found out that it is privately owned (they are doing nothing with it, but we may be able to talk the owners into selling for the right price. Being from Lake Placid I know this mountain and think that it would be possible to turn it into a successfull park exclusive mountain. Considering that Whiteface still does not have their park built yet we would be getting a lot of business.

for all of the equepment and stuff you could just buy all old stuff like old groomers and old construntion equipment as for snow making wecould get back yard blizards!!!!! haba or just get a couple big ass air compressers and power washer and some sue15b snow guns from snowmaking2003

My local hill (Mission Ridge Wa.) sold a couple months ago for about 1.8 mil. I don't know how it sold for so cheep, It's got a nice size lodge, small midway lodge/bar, 4 double chairs, about 8 groomers, shitload of terrain, and it's been profitable the last 5-6 years straight.

Why do your skis curve up on both ends?
 
I beleave the t-bar runs on gas, really the only thing you would need is a couple of used snow guns and a used bobcat (much cheaper than actual groomer).

You can make a t-bar from scratch easy!

If you wanted to make it 'easy' and cheaper, you could build the jumps and half-pipe out of dirt during the summer (I know resorts already do that but I mean completely out of dirt with a partial lip and all) and then when it snows you just have to plow it over to the shit and pack it on.

Or you could just start a camp there and advertise all over the place, but that would cost a lot and I doubt any bank would believe that you could earn the money back

start without snow guns man, just set up tons of rails, like open the resort with 30 rails setup it'd be sicl ike that, get a master welder (or someone become one) and just weld weld weld, you'd have a sick park in no time

Yo i think the way to do this would to get all the sponsership you possibly could... i mean everything.Ask pretty much all ski companys and any other companys that revolve around skiing.

If some group of us tried hard enough maybe it just could happen.

its hickory hill....and it really is just a hill. hickory is one of the few mtns in the country that still uses only surface lifts (1 jay bar and 2 pomas)...even if the whole mtn was a park it wouldnt be that big.

who needs lifts? we are all used to hiking the park anyways so I say build a really dope jib park and then devote a trail or 2 for groomers to cash in on normal skiers. How many people are on NS? 50,000+ so multiply that by 50 bucks each and we got ns mountain

me being as bored as i am i just looked at some real estate land theres land in Colorado going to around $40,000 for 40 acres (coloradomountainspirit.com) dunno if they'd be great for skiing, could possibly build a park on it.

Why skiers only? There are just as many beater skiers as there are beater snowboarders. Hell half you people on this site probably cant even snowplow.
