Sketchiest feature

So me and my friend were riding up the chair the other day and were wondering what the sketchiest feature we had each hit before. Then we wondered what was the sketchiest on we had seen in real life and then the sketchiest one on video. Not looking for trick just feature.

So NS what is the sketchiest feature you've seen, hit or heard of go!

Mine are....

Hit:Urban C-Rail with minimal snow

Seen:6ft tall round wooden rainbow rail at SR in the woods park

Video: LJ's rail in Grand Bizarre or his Wail Tail jump in Prime Cut

fucking wooden features. it's usually a toss up between "it'll slide if you balance right" or "o hai, let me grab your skis and never let go" which sends you flying.

hit: rainbow rail at afton alps minnesota. it's narrower than an urban rail, rusty, short with a really steep curve, and the park crew used to build a jump on that didnt match the angle of the rainbow.

now they've started building a jump onto it properly and burying the steep end into the snow. now its hittable.

another one is wild mountain's pipe. the tranny was beyond awful, didnt even go vertical, walls were ice and not even parallel or straight from top to bottom. thankfully they dont build it anymore

This, or the rainbow rail at my hill, or pretty much all the boxes (3) cause the tops are complete shit.

^thats my video and the sketchiest feature ive hit is the down flat wood rail in that

yes. this is what I'm talkin bout. Remember the rainbow rail at Sunday River in the woods park? Sketchy shit!

MSU campus in Bozeman like 2 years ago we hit this really long C rail with a couple of 2 inch gaps that you had to hop. I might have pics of it. It was so fuckin stupid.

same thing hahaha

and when they had 3 jumps last year, the first one was incredibly poppy

basically all afton alps jumps are sketchy as fuck. and shitty as can be

This weird box that was ribbed and had the ribbed parts sticking up above the box so if you hit it sideways you would get fucked up real bad. So you could only 50-50 it

i havent been there yet this year but i thought last years were a step in the right direction. sketch and super easy to over/undershoot, but still better than before.

urban wise: a reeeealy steep rusty rail at my school. just me and my 1 friend were there. took FOREVER to get the bungee back far enough with 2 of us, and the inrun was about 2.5ft wide through these fences with a 15ft drop on one side.

in the park: a jump with a 20ft tall kicker and the landing was 5ft from the end of the kicker. not even fucking around.

also an urban style skinny down-rail, but it had rained the day before then froze over (the park crew hadnt fixed it yet) so the lip was about 3.5ft below the rail. may not be that extreme to some but it was really sketchy for me. had to pop up like a mofo

Snowshoe had a rainbow rail that was like cut in half so it just had a massive drop off at the peak of the curve....and the landing was flat.

At mount snow on a pya last year I swivle a flat down, came off blind. Instead of riding away steezy I got swallowed. There was a 3 foot hole on the landing, it was fucking crazy. Also got run over by like 3 more kids. Pay your age day makes parks suck.

last year COP had a flat box that nobody hit, first time i saw somebody hit it their skis flew off and the guy almost did a flip and landed on his side. Closer inspection revealed that a nail was sticking out of the end of the box about an inch, and it would have been like that for a while.

i'm not usually one to do this but dear god that was the worst fucking song i've ever heard. i had to stop the video it was so annoying.

okemo has all snowboarders on their park crew, and consequently they love building ride on features

not the worst feature but this has been a running theme

corrugated pipes in general, the one at my hill is all chipped and it is so easy to catch or have your ski fall into one of the chipped sections.

if anyone else has ever been to bretton woods, nh and skied through their natural park you'll know what im talking about. this thing is made of a bunch of pallets "stuck" together aka they are thrown on the ground in close proximity to each other with little gaps between the pallets which already have gaps between each 2 by 4. it is a 4 foot flat then a 70 degree kink to 10 foot down and it slid like they had never waxed it and when i went last year (the park is in a glade so they dont groom or maintain the features) the landing was legit rocks, grass, tree roots and a tiny bit of snow with a tree 5 feet away from the end of the "rail".

The two that split at the beginning of the entrance to the quad... I think. I havent been there in a while. but we hit the one on the right. my buddy clipped and flew over the back. like 7 feet to concrete on his back. needless to say he was done for the night. It was hands down the scariest thing I've ever done. And we didnt even get footage. fuckin stupid
