If you want a good skateboard go to your local shop with about 150$ for a complete. The board will probably last a while before breaking. After you have the complete you can buy decks and new wheels/bearings whenever they go bad for 30-50$ every couple of months or so.
Also this might just be personal preference but I feel that widish decks around 8.25-8.5 are the easier to learn on

Hi just here to say:
Zealous bearings >>>>>>> Reds
Cheaper and you don't have to buy spacers, therefore doubly cheaper and less moving parts/slop when you powerslide.
They are also insanely good. They spin smoother than my Rollerbones even after tons of outside use and washing both types of bearings.
Just buy em. Downhillers swear by them, so you know they're fast.

These are the brand's that pretty much everyone likes, can't go wrong with any if them.

Btw in regards to trucks: Don't pass up looking at street trucks by Paris, Caliber, Bear, or Gullwing. Those brands are pretty much unknown to skateboarders because they primarily manufacture reverse kingpin (longboard) trucks but their street trucks are all good too.
Honestly tho just go to a local shop and buy something they have, don't overthink it. Just tryna raise awareness for these brands so you can try em if you want.

the other responses in this thread are really good, def go for the budget options starting off. once ur comfortable on a board start experimenting with different brands and see what you like best, everyone skates differently and everyone likes how different things feel

How do you like your welcome board? Has it held up well? Thinking about getting one, I love the shaped boards and their designs.

Eric kostons new brand numbers has some cool and good quality decks. One thing I enjoy is decks with more snubbed/square tails & noses. They do pop faster

Don’t cheap out on the bearings. Big difference between cheap bearings and good ones
