what are the first steps to skateboarding? i tried it last week and i couldn't go 3 feet with out falling. well then i tried a kick flip 360 and i landed in a bush. yea, that hurt. but any tips would be cool...

'look i can turn my brain off... la la la la la la la la la la la lala la la lala la al la... whoa! how long was i out?'

here's a tip: don't do kickflip 360's when you can't ride for 3 feet without falling

You'd better hope Hell get's ya before I do

Here's the best advice for skateboarding. Get super comfortable with ollies, practice ollying up and over stuff, and eventually down stuff. There's nothign worse than when you go to the skatepark and you see kids trying ridiculous flip tricks when they can't even kickflip.

So here goes

Ollys and manuals

180s

ollys into manuals

kickflips and start working on grinds, boardslide and noseslides and 50-50s

Those are basically what I consider the basics, and build from there.

ollying is hard to learn, but once you get the hang of it, the rest comes alot easier...start off with easier things like shuv its, then move on to kickflips, and then kickflip 3s....

It's not about the wannabes stylin' for the crowd. It's about you setting your own standards and being a tough judge...

damn shortboards, i dont use em much anymore. you need it long, and with at least 60's down below. much more fun, less aggrivating. i focus too many boards to skate them every day. i learned on a vert board, really wide, and i think it helped me a lot with board control. the first thing other than ollies i learned was fakie shuvits. really easy, and look nice. i think that the best trick to do on a skateboard has to be a fakie backside 180 over a gap or some steps

'He got fired? What did he do?'

'He jumped off of the roof again'

skating has to be the hardest thing ever...i say just do ollies for a long ass time and like become pro at it then try other shit

Skateboarding is so tech, you can get in funks w/ your flip tricks and have to refocus your technique to doing them proper again. I wouldn't say to learn 3 flips after kickflips, I'd work on heelflips and fakie flips, and backside and frontside kickflips are a little easier than 3 flips.

i built street skis and someone threw out my old skateboard deck, now im getting good on my friends board and i dont have one, this sucks

And all the worlds a terrain park, and the people are merely jibbers.

well you can get in funks with a lot of things. liek free throw shooting in basketball, soemtimes you just suck at em. usually its becuase you get lazy tho.
