alright so i bmx and dirtbike in the summer right now but alot of my friends skateboard and i started a little last year on a blank deck, i dont know much about skateboards so someone tell me what i should go with for deck, trucks, and wheels also deck size too, and what deck has the best pop? im 145 pounds and 6'2' if that helps

stick with blanks. or powell mini-logos, they're good decks for cheap.

i'll sell you a decent element board with everything for $30 if you want. i only used a couple times when i went to cali a year ago. its a really nice board. talk to me at bousquet if you're interested.

first off wat type of skating do you want to do, flip tricks or vert like stuff. Just get a blank setup, its all you need to start off with. get some abec5's for bearings. I would recommend a girl deck but thats if you want to spend money. Royal trucks are wat all my friends and I ride. So just go to your local skate shop and talk to them about a setup.

wow...your light, hit the weights buddy. but seriously, board strenght doesn't matter for you, so go based on pop...if you like pop (concave) go for something like girl, alien workshop, or element (these are also really light) or go for the flatter tops (stronger for bigger shit) such as anti-hero and foundation

i couldn't imagine if i was 145, w/e though, that's not important, narrower decks are weaker, fatter decks are stronger, for you, it shouldn't really matter, but i prefer decks like 7 3/4', i alway's buy these decks made by olive skateboards, but i'm pretty sure they're canadian, oh, you can buy blank wheels and blank bearings, and decks, but don't cheap out on trucks, trust me.

Go to a shop and stand on some decks and see how you like the feel and lenth; dont worry you wont look like a queer, its customary to stand on decks and get the feel for it.

 
haha no need to hit the weights im fine in most athletics and trust me ive tried gaining weight, i'll fill out in a few years, its alot better than bein a fat ass like most people nowadays

anyways thanks for the help i think i might just stick with a blank and to answer another question id just be skatin mostly street no vert or anything

ur weight is good for skateboarding, now you wont break decks like most tanks do. I weigh 140 im 5'9 an 1/4 and my shoes are size 11... I enjoy riding my local shops board, they got step concave big step nose and tails and are about 7 and 5/8 th's length is like 31 something i dont pay attention to the length. Basically you have to test out a few boards and find what you feel most comfortable with and perform the best with. stand on the board in the store for the feel of it, I always do it. Then for wheels any brand is fine but get like 52mm or 51 thats a good size trucks....i dunno what to say ive had bad expierence with them...same with bearings.

what deck has the best pop is simply opinion, and for a beginner, any set up would be alright since all you are going to be doing are the basics...
