skateboarding

i longboard, i used to skateboard but hurt myself too much, i enjoy longboarding much more. It's fun to just cruise with your buddies and bomb hills.

i skateboard, it's so fun. i have a 2 deck high ollie now and can boardslide, shuvit, kickflip, i can do all the basic tricks as well as ride pipe well. pretty much nobody else skates around here though, so i'm pretty much alone when i do it. oh and by the way, i have an 8 ft. halfpipe in my backyard, it's the shit.

i personally dont like skateboarding, long boards are cool. i think what i don't like are the posers who do it, the sport itself is cool and super technical like all the kick flips and shit, that stuff is pretty hard, but it's the fact that' it's like the biggest poser sport ever and tons of people say the skate but really don't and have never even stood on one, that's what i don't like

i skate, longboard, all sorts of stuff. i build um too. i can do basic tricks on skateboards, and can do all sorts of tricks on longboards. colman slides, frontslides, 360 slides. but right now i have been rippin it up on a new board type. it rides like a snowboard, and allows you to jib like one too. its a standard skate deck, with 'standard style' trucks (150mm hangers) mounted on the kicktails. i am running 76mm Gravity wheels on it, and have homemade skyhooks mounted above the trucks. really fun ride. its low, so its easy to kick and stabe. Cause the kingpins are angled so much, the turning radius is way tighter than randals. if you want serious info on how to build one, message me. you can build a brand new one for the same price as a standard board-70 bucks maybe, and if you have a lot of shit layin around, prolly free.

PS. it works ok with standard trucks and wheels, but not nearly as fast or turny.

I skate but I just started a few months ago so I'm not too good. I can ollie, popshuvit and kickflip and thats about it. It's really fun though.

oh i almost have my 4 deck ollies down, on a good day, kickflip, varial flip, shuvit, FS shuv, Fakie all that previous stuff, any 180's except nollie 180's....almost pull cabs..i can boardslide, noseslide, 5-0, 50-50

i skate never have been very good it is more of a fun thing to do every once in a while. plus i dont have money to buy boards when i break them anymore.

i tried it for awhile a year ago. I couldnt do much. I could just ride around. I felt like a tard the one time i went to a skatepark. Its fun to mess around with when I'm bored. I wouldnt say I'm a skater. At all.

yup. skating is where it's at in the summer. has anybody else in ottawa been riding the tunnels at carleton? soooo amazing.. super smooth never-ending downhills, and there are actually a few good little spots to stake out. we were there last night and had a filing cabinet going as a grinder/manual box. good times indeed.

 
yeah I can varial 5-0 180 out on my box, but i'm too ubsesed with skiing so thats all I do and think about and now that I'm getting into ski touring in spring/summer and COC skiing will rule my life and I won't skate as much as I used to.

It suckes but at the same time----it doesn't.

I skate. I have been skateing for like 5 years. I can do kickflip, backside flips, varial flips, fakie varial flips, fakie tre flips, bigspin, sexchange, double kickflip(rarely), boardslide(frontside and backside), Tail manny to kickflip out, nosegrind, noseslide, 5050180out, bluntstall, boardside shuvit out, etc.

whats the easiest way to ollie and kickflip on a skateboard?

should i keep my front foot in the middle of the board, or near the nose?

 
near the middle and just slide it up. It just something that takes lot of practice, but you'll get it.

well, i can ollie with my foot in the middle, but i see a lot of kids with thier front foot near the nose of the board.. just wondering.

 
when you kickflip, put foot where you would for an ollie, just slightly closer to the edge...pop and slide it to where your hardware are, and then roll your ankle off the concave
