Skateboarding in Afghanistan

Great shots and awesome music, what else can i say, it was beautiful.

The movie showed the reason why we practice sports and everybody does, to be better with yourself, to have a little break from your problems and your real life.

its crazy how big of an impact something like skateboarding can have on people's lives. over here we just drive over to the skate shop and pick up a deck, but there its a life changing thing for them.
 
wow, that was a very moving video. Super emotionally charged, it's great that those kids have a chance to participate in a program like that that gets them out and interacting with each other in a positive way.

Now I'm putting it on my ipod and anytime i feel shitty im going to watch it, such a great motivating/inspiration film
 
Thats awesome. it's amazing to see a program like that work, and more than that see those kids live be changed. brings you back to that feeling of unbridled freedom when you're doing what you love.
 
That was a very inspirational video and is a similar project that one of my friends is behind.

It is a registered charity called Bridge to Skate. It is mostly focused on helping children in Honduras get into the sport of skating by building a skate park, and by handing out skateboards and skateboard equipment to kids.

i was thinking the same thing i even think skating on asphalt sucks, maybe getting shot at makes you tough enough to skate on gravel
 
That is amazing, really want to help support their park or something so they can keep it at the quality it is at and hopefully build more.
 
Yeah, NSG is usually just a bunch of garbage so I have fun, but this video is, well, amazing.

I showed my friends, who both never skate, and they couldn't stop watching it. Over and over. It was done so well, and it's a great aspect of life in Afghanistan that you don't always get from the media. All you hear is death, fighting, terror. You never hear about positives, or from children/teens. It's always from leaders perspectives. In a way this video touches me, not because I've been in this situation, but just because I can relate to the people in the video, since they are just average teenagers/kids.
