for me at least, mostly since i have alot of pressure when i ski to progress quickly, but when i skateboard, i just do it to purely enjoy myself, with no pressure or goals, other than just to have fun.

i just can't skateboard, i use it only for transportation uses only. But to me skiing has no limit as long as you put your mind to it. Anybody can do anything in skiing, you just have to overcome the fear. That is huge.

word, but i just video a lot, it helps for skiing season...well kinda, haha that is if i am videoing.

they dont compare at all to me, maybe its because i cant skateboard, haha, but skiing is so much better.

mmh, interesting, because i have the exact opposite. i need to remember to just skate for fun, more than when i ski. its weird. but im getting better at just having fun and not trying to land everything i try all the time, because if i don't, i freak....

i'm better at skating than at skiing i'd say, not that I can't rip it up on skis, it's just that there is absolutely nowhere to ski within 4 hours of me, so I always have a lot more time to skate.

Skateboarding is the shit and in some ways more fun than skiing. Why? Skating is cheaper and more accessible. I love getting creative on both (skiing and skating) that would be my favorite part, that and having fun. getting recognized in either is hard and its stupid to try. Have fun do what you want to and if you re good it happens and if you dont get recognized at least you re having fun...

I had the raddest skate today ever ever. It was sweet. It was raining real hard, and really slippery and I was soaked, but I didn't give a shit. I didn't even try anything, just rode my skateboard. The best part was going through the drive-thru on my skateboard at Timmy Hoes. And the other best thing was when I was skating down down this set of stairs (but they were really fat steps too) it was very fun. And then I went to my friends ramp, and I broke it. It was such a great day. Then I watched Afterlame.

i went skating today...first it sucked casue it starter pouring and shit but it dried up in like a half hour(during the rain we went to my fiends dads office and there was like a river going down the road so i went "swimmin") then we were skating at gay places and gettin kicked out in abaout 2 mins so we got some kid to skate with us who knows mad spots to skate. then these girls and a guy kept drivin past us cause we were videoing and they wanted to b in it. then the guy driving had the idea to drive over a curb up a small hill and over another curb.(he had a old handa civic) his car got stuck on the curb so we helped him get it off and he drove away. then 5 mins later he came back w/ a dozen doughnuts for us... it was awesome

and sent me a invite for the ns skate cult 2

Afterlame is awesome!! Here's my day skating: the air conditioning broke down at school so we got to leave at 11. It was really hot and humid out. Me & my friend bussed to the best park in town, skated for like 2 hours, then cruised down hills and a freshly paved street

 
Skateboarding is awsome but my will to even go near a skateboard always becomes weak whenever I find myself surrounded by those kids who are all like "duude....fuck everything else but skating, skating this, skating that, new shoes every week, new deck every week, skating, if you can't kickflip then you're a faggot, meh meh meh" that type of shit Im sick of it. But those times when you are just cruisin down a sidewalk and doing small stuff on obsticles as you go along makes it totally worth it....and skating concrete parks, Alaska doesn't have any so I don't get to go to them much, but when Im on vacation (im goin to california tomarrow) I skate a bunch of concrete and it is almost as entertaining as urbaning with Troy and Zach.

i disagree. i skate and film every weekend in boston and it will never be as fun as skiing. Its a lot less satifying in many ways

went skating at this xgames skatepark, with massive jet lag since i just landed here in texas yesterday, which was today only yesterday...

felt so sick, couldn't get a kickflip at all, but i had fun, man... so awesome. i helped a kid ollie up a manual pad for the first time. i feel so validated.

I'd love to start, but I'm 17, and it's bad because I know kids who are like 12 who would be able to skate circles around me... I'd be embarrased.

i started last year, and im 16, and i reek. you just have to get over the fact that you are older then them, and have fun with it. heck, you can be their mentor in life outside of skting... have fun with it, you have to start somewhere...

i have skated forever and the same with skiing.....skatboarding for me is like 3 out of 10 compared to skiing.....plus when i bail skiing i dont hurt as bad the morning after.

skateboarding is techincal but I just can't see myself enjoying it anywhere near as much as skiing, barreling down an untracked field of powder in the backcountry doing 60 dodging rocks and trees, I just dont see how anything on a skateboard could possibly compare. I guess it could be as fun as park skiing.

We pay our debt sometimes.
 
It's sweet though because each has it's own off season.

The problem with skating is that you are falling all the time so its hard to feel good about yourself. You go out one day and you try something over and over and over untill you land it once. Its not the same with skiing. Oh and you cant hit powder or hits on a skateboard.

 
im the same but i started this year. actually like friday was my first skatepark trip. its fun and smooth, but skiing to be by myself out west is wayyyy smoother
