hey i just started skating and have run into a few problems

when i front or bakside pop shuvit or 180 i can only land one footed.

when i ollie at speed i always land on an angle instead of straight.

+k for help

-k for fags

Make sure your shoulders are always above the board and stay on balance. When you come down to land make you have good balance so you don't slide out. Also, It could be that your getting scared of falling. Happens to me when learning new tricks. Just don't pussy out and you'll be good haha

I'm gonna start skating again, just need to get a board since my brother claimed my old one. Used to ride a lot back in college and now I want to do it again to re-gain and get more balance.

When for 180/shuv, keep your body centered above the board. Lean into your spin. When you're doing shuv's, ust your back foot to scoop and push the board forward. It'll come with practice.

I had the same problem stop looking at your board scary at first but it'll stop your shoulders from monving at an angle

With the ollieing with speed problem. Make sure you are sliding your foot straight towards the nose of the board, and keeping your shoulders square as well.

Try landing on the opposite foot next time, next thing you know you will land with both feet right on the bolts.

Give it a try, it worked for me when I used to skateboard.

I learnt back shuvits first then learn't backside 180's but it's all pretty much something you have to make up your own mind on.

It's all in your mind man. With the pop shoves at least. You just need to jump towards your board. Catch with the front foot and really concentrate on bringing that back foot on. You probably aren't even trying to put both feet on, but not consciously. I had this problem for a long time as well, but with k-flips.

Put enough time in and you'll get it. It's a pain, but there is no secret trick. All it is, is practicing enough.

Might as well post in this thread instead of creating another thread... not trying to thread jack

Well since ski season is over for me I wanted to start skateboarding in the off season. I really have no clue on what deck since none of my friends skate.I need a whole setup any advice? Any advice to someone who's just starting?

Does your local skateshop sell their own boards? Those are usually going to be cheaper. If they don't just buy any blank board. I have found Venture trucks to be pretty cheap and very good. I ride spitfires or bones usually, but it really doesn't matter. To be honest its best to go with the least expensive stuff with your first board. Over time you will start to see what you prefer. As far as board sizes go its all preference. I am a size 12 shoe and use an 8.12 or something random like that. Its above 8 anyways. Wheels are 51mm's and low trucks. I have had these ventures for a few years now though. They are falling apart.

And I realize my sentences are not grammatically correct. I do not care at this moment.

Yeah what he said.. not trying to thread jack.

But hit up your local skate shop they'll hook you up with a dope board. That's what I did and I love mine

blading is so fucking dumb. The mere fact in a skateboarding thread you put a blading edit why? I mean ill give it to you, frankie morales is a good skater, but blading compared to skateboarding is so dumb.

this fucking pisses me off all you 12year old shit head skaters have no respect for bladers, you cant give any reasons why its dumb other than it dosent look cool.

when ollieing especially keep your shoulders in line with the board, this will keep your ollies straight. That applies to almost every other trick too. Just stay with it and you'll get better

brah im 21 years old. You said it yourself, blading doesnt look cool. Why would anyone want to do something that doesnt look cool,

You want to focus on puting your other foot on the skateboard during your shuvit. Try to keep both your feet off the ground until landing on the deck. Practice this and you will get it. I also do not understand how people who are pretty into skiing can say that blading does not look cool, when the two sports are so similar.

I refuse to believe that you can front shuv already. And just catch back shuvs with your front foot, super easy. 180s just pop and turn your body, that's literally it.
