sizing park skis down from "regular" skis

i'm short and light (5'2') and usually ski 159/160 skis. i'm having trouble learning tricks, though, and am wondering if i should go shorter for park stuff. 153 just seems so short, though. opinions? i've never skied anything that short!

no dont go shorter, you're having trouble learning trick because you have no balls

so sack up

you can build a thousand bridges, but you suck one dick and your known as a cocksucker.. not a bridge builder.

153 definitely isn't too short, but if it seems too short for you, just try a softer ski along the same length as the ski you normally ride, that way you'll have more control learning park but you won't feel like you're riding skiboards

don't go to a 153, my g/f is the same height and she rocks 163's so def stick around the 160 area

i say go with the 153's. you will have a much easier time learning tricks. everyone on this site thinks its cool to get longer ski's cause thats what the pros use. im 5'10 170lbs and im going with 176 scratch B.C.'s this year, if it was up to everyone on here id be getting the 182 or 188's.

i usually stick to mid 70's, i ride the scratch 174s right now (6' 2' 175 lbs), but last year i bought some old 1260's at 169 i believe and landed 540 first try. Its alll a preferance thing. If you dont want short, dont co short, do what you feel comfortable at. The lines suck all mountain and i know its because they are short for me and the bindings are pretty centered, but they are real fun in the park. It may not just be the length that is your problem (speed and balls).

anything shorter than a 160 looks like a snowlerblade, and that's a fact. Try looking into softer flex/lighter skis, because whatever huckability you gain with short skis is outweighed by the difficulty of stable landings on short skis.

If you're venturing out into terrain parks and trying to learn tricks, I think it's fair to assume that you're a pretty agressive skier. Being agressive, you'll need more ski. Keep the length, soften the flex. If you want, try something around an 80-85mm waist for more balance and more surface area. It could be what you're looking for.
