size of skiers affects ability?

I just heard this....well sorta. Whats the advantages of bein' small, or tall? I know its a stupid question but some one told me this and I was just wonerin'...

well, i duno bout tall, but skinny kids spin like toothpics, were bigger kids dont, and biger gets more speed, smaller gets less, but floats in the air, bigger flies up and goes down

ideal skier size: 5 11, 180 lbs (all muscle), oh wait, that's me

THE SPRINKLER: get butt naked and then do a 1260 while taking a piss, i expect this trick to win many comps this coming season.
 
yeah im ral short like 5'2 so i can float like mad mad in the air, its nice

The only disadvatage to being small is that it is tough to get speed. If anyone here knows little luke matranie they know that he is probably on of the best snowboarders under 14. its just that he is so small that he cant get more the 8 feet out in a half pipe.

 
yeah i have a real problem with gettin speed, i gotta like straight line from the top of the park to get noce air of some bug jumps, in the pipe i just build up a lotta speed before comin in, thats like Simon Dumont cause hes only likr 5'6 or somethin

smaller and tiny guys can reach for a grab like cake and flip and spin real easy and fast so i think smaller guys have a tiny avantage

ya true...u don't see little guys ripping the BC..seth morrison is pretty tall and so it hugo harrison..tanner is like 5'6' so i guess size matters :)

yeah taller is better for big mountain and smaller is better for the park maybe thats why i like big mountain better

yeah but most people like stuff that they are better at. and since im better at big mountain, maybe because im taller than most skiers, i like it more.

Being tall is a slight disadvantage when it comes to the park and pipe, but it doesnt mean you can't get around it. The guy who won the Pipe at the WSI in Whistler was like 6'10'' or something like that. And being tall, or big, is slightly better in the BC cause you can throw your weight around. It pretty much boils down to how good of a skier you are, then size doesn't really matter.

lower center of gravity,

that's why most 'pros' are shorter than you'd expect when you see them....

then again there are freaks of nature that can put anything down like philiou, monk, Rex tomas....

I'm 6'3 200lbs and I dont think it has a single disadvantage or advantage...a person's body works because they know it well. As long as you are strong for your weight and size...than your fine.

id say smaller guys have a slight advantage when it comes to park. that doesnt mean big guys can rip, i saw a guy killing it on a snowboard who must have been about 230 pounds, and he wasnt that tall either, just fat.

its a lot harder for a tall guy to flip then a short guy.

There is nothing motherly about mother nature. Except for her big mountainous breasts.
