SIZE HELP

After 5 years of snowboarding I finally figured out that two boards are better than one.

I bought a pair of 151 Suspects and quickly grew out of them... (Skiing came naturally.)

I'm a 5'5" (easily 5'6" with boots) female and around 150lbs.

I want to stick with the Suspects and my other two options would be to get the 161 or 171.

I'm very muscular for a chick and don't have a problem man-handling things around. ;)

SO, my question is... What size should I go with, 161 or 171?

Ski size charts online say 161, but it seems like a lot of riders are going with skis a few inches taller than them...
 
Good to hear. That's what my gut was telling me to go with... Had I not caught on so fast I'd probably go with the 161... but I feel silly comfortable on skis.

I am pretty much the same size as you and I ski 171's but I'm an advanced skier (claim haha) so yeah you should probably go for like 165 of 168 if you can find some, 171's might be a lil too long for a n00b girl skier. But 171's would def. be ok just a lil hard at first I guess
 
oh don't worry by n00b i meant begginer and yeah 171 isn't too big, it's just rare that I see a girl riding the same ski size as a guy the same height I guess
 
for your fifth day on skis you were doing good one those boxes! the pipe run was a little weak though. Still, im impressed
 
why dont you guys switch to the metric system. its just so much easier. im too lazy to figure out but 171 sounds a bit too long.
 
Thanks Justin! The pipe was SERIOUSLY un-groomed and needed MAJOR help... I actually got out of the pipe the split second he missed me... horrible angle to be at!!!

 
Think about it this way. How much longer is 171 than 161? 1 inch is 2.5 cm so..... 171 is 4 inches longer. If you center mount or do close to center (like -2) or something that is only adding 2 inches to each side! that is hardly anything!
