no, the acting was fucking horrible. how could you possibly say it wasn't? anakin was like a fucking statue. there is hardly any emotion. lucas is a bad director. he's also a bad writer. the best one is clearly empire strikes back, and guess what, he didn't direct it and he had a team of writers with him. god that movie sucked, i think you guys just weren't going to let yourselves be let down again.

 
its fucking star wars, not million dollar baby. when has a science fiction movie ever had good acting? who goes to see star wars for the dialogue? i was more than happy with it.

the first ones had much better acting and dialogue. just because it's a star wars movie it has the excuse to be painful to watch and listen to the actors?

 
dude this was a movie for the fans, and those who know the rest of the story. He made it for the people who know. Like if you know the rest of the story then you can see how great the story is.

George Lucas makes the actors act terribly. Natalie Portman and Ewen McGregor have had a variety of good performances in other films.

Take Samuel L. Jackson's performance in Attack of the Clones: even the most bad ass, cynical black man on the planet couldn't make it interesting.

My point is that George Lucas has lost his fuckinge edge and all three of the new Star Wars have proven that.

All the original star wars (besides a new hope) were not even directed by george at all. But this was all written as one huge gigantic story, not six movies in mind. this is his story, and he will tell it the way he wants. Ths was a movie for the fans, if the general pubilc does not like it then who cares. he made us happy.

I've read some comics, episodes 7 through 9, where Luke turns evil and Leia kicks his ass into oblivion. I wonder if Lucas will fathom these movies into production..

Nah luke does not turn evil, tht is Star War infinites, alternate universe, episode 7-9 is dark empire comic book, Star Wars Wedding (where luke get marryed), and other books

dude i'm a huge fan of the movies. i'd say if anything the new ones were a disappointment to the biggest fans more than anyone. we all know the story, he just told it very badly in these episodes.

i enjoyed it. the ONLY part that ruined it was Obi Wan riding that damn lizard thing. haha i couldnt stop laughing.

Natalie Portman really isn't that bad of an actor. I've said it once, I'll say it again: the actors perform according to the desires of the director. Blame George Lucas...he insists on this overly dramatic acting that makes you squirm with embarassment...or at least it makes me do so.

I actually concluded that her poor performance was the result of Hayden being in all of her important scenes. Someone like that can BOMB another actor's performance just by association.

 
Or the fact that Lucas was the director, that can also bomb any good performance.

Look if you were not a fan, this movie is not for you, if you have not seen any of the other films this is not for you. Go watch some other fucking art film, there is no originals, it was written as one big film. It is all one Huge story, like lord of the rings, or the matrix. Some people are like the ignorant film critics who ruin everything for everyone.

Actually, it wasn't WRITTEN as one big film. He had the frame work laid out, but he definetly had not written episodes 1, 2, and 3 when he started on episode 4 in the 70's. If you look at old character books written 5+ years ago, there are a lot of incosistencys, because Lucas hadn't written anything about the characters except for what was in the original trilogy. Anything you read about Vader never mentions Padme, because Lucas hadn't created her yet.

Actually the story was written as one big saga, he had presented it to Fox as one big saga to fox, characters and all, but what happend was they thought that the film was not going to be sucessful at all, so they said well lets start with one film first then work on it. And in the books, and comics they mention the whole origin. All the books and comics have to pass through lucas books to be approved for the story line, and consistancy. In other words like i said the idea was presented as one big saga that had to be separated into parts.

haha, i don't think i deserve to be shot dead. alright, i respect george lucas cus he made some of the greatest and most revolutionary movies ever, but that was back in the 70's. he isn't a good director, that's pretty widely accepted. and by writer i mean that he needs help writing scripts so that lines like "NOOOOOOOO" don't end up in there. i just think he really fucked up with these last few movies.

 
The funny thing is, people that say it is the worst movie that they have ever seen, can't even think of a valid enough reason to prove the shittiness compared to other movies, sometimes the acting was sketchy, but that is like every other movie too...every single aspect other than the acting beat out just about every movie I've ever seen. It was good.

I you say that Hayden's acting is false then you have obviously not seen any of his other work. such as first big film which created oscar buzz. You just want to have something to bitch about. Their are so many underpinings. Some of the story is from the bible, from former wars, and other times in history. If you don't liek it then shut the fuck up, and go to some east eurpoian art film. This is for the fans, and situations similar to this have happened.

I think the reason why the orriginals are better than the latest batch of movies is because in the first starwars there is a much larger plot. You have atleast 2 or 3 things going on simotaniously, as opposed the the latest films to come out where it is very focused on one person.

My favorite part of the movie is the very end where they somehow connect a new hope and this one together in like 2 minutes... Its kinda like writing a 10 page paper and then ending it with a 1 sentence paragraph.

And thats why nazis were bad.

IT is one big plot, it was writen as a totally different story, and as the originals were being made lucas was evolving the story to fit.
