the new york times review gave revenge of the sith an A, saying,

"This is by far the best film in the more recent trilogy, and also the best of the four episodes Mr. Lucas has directed. That's right (and my inner 11-year-old shudders as I type this): it's better than "Star Wars."

well, it starts off not long after the last one ended. Palpatine starts twisting anakin with the dark side, and anakin goes nuts and becomes darth veda and they wage war on and almost eliminate the jedi

I saw it at midnight. I will confirm what the new york times has said. Best movie out of all of them by far. Nothing like the more recent two. Absolutely AMAZING!!!!

I thought that the last maybe hour was incredible but the beginning to be honest wasn't that great, first 45 minutes i thought the movie was gonna suck.

the special effects were dope, but the acting sucked. but since about half of the movie was fight scenes, it worked out ok. but as soon as anyone opened their mouth it took a turn for the worse. for entertainment and explosions, i say A. as a movie, I give it C--. see it drunk.

i would just like to say to westcoaststyle*$ that you are and idiot for saying all the jedi die. if youve done anything more than watch the movies, such as reading if one has a life, you would know that there are actually numerous jedi who survie for years after what happens albeit that only one lives past yoda and obi-wan but the teachings are passed down secretly through the families. cal me a lifeless loser for knowing this but you were just proved wrong.

The film was sick! great great GREAT! Empire strikes back is still my nr.1 Star wars film, but revenge of the sith is number 2 now

 
to say this as an fan is to shoot my self in the foot. you can say you have a fav film, it is totally wrong since this whole trilogy written as one story.

Chapter would be better, but still, just so different, i am just happy sith came out the way it did, thank god George took back direct control over the film. that is why it is so good, it came straight from his head. No fucking arond with film company exects, like episode 1.

I DID man, i saw the falcon, but i don't remember what scene it is. But i remember seeing it, and seeing george in the movie. I say this has been his crowning moment in the saga. This is the biggest part in the whole story since Jedi.

Wait, you actually thought that the movie was well made. The story was basic and trite. There was no depth to the characters. All the acting was lacking in emotion. And this can all be blamed on the fact that George Lucas directed it. Way to go George.

as a total star wars fan, i liked the film, but it felt like durring the production of it, they were sitting there with a check list of things that had to be tied up in the course of the film, and then they just went through and mechanically tossed in the parts of the check list, and called it a day. for me the best part of the whole thing was when obi wan delivered luke to his uncle on tatooine, and they quoted the shot in ep 4 with the twin suns setting over the moisture farm... and the whole shot of vaders profile when he takes his first breaths... that was tight.

I thought it was fucking sick, whoever that kid is who plays anikan is a lot better now so i dont understand how people knock the actors, the guy who plays kenobi has been great all along, anyways the plot is sick and the fights/effects are fuckin crazy. Im def gonna see it again (mainly cause i get in for free)

^ I'm not knocking the actors, I'm knocking the writer(Lucas). I don't expect the actors to be able to do a good job when they are given crappy lines that are so obvious and poorly written.

ive heard its pretty bad, yet to see it myself, but i trust my friends thoughts and views on it.. he said the acting and writing was like dawson creek and the whole thing was just bad....

but ill still see it, cus thats the way the media trains us.

I don't really understand how anyone can say it was really bad... it was pure entertainment, better than 98% of the bullshit movies that get put out. How can you not like the scene with count douku? The one with Anakin and Sidious killing Mace windou? The one when obe wan kills grevious? The end battle? When darth vadar becomes darth vadar??

you can't deny all that.

Maybe lucas didn't want to have extremely good dialogue in his movie... maybe the actions of the characters build depth by themselves?

 
Why don't you go back to film school then. Look at how much this film, and film story changed the film world. Everything was done different after that. You must of only watched this movie, because if you watched the whole film saga then you would know of his creative mind. Look in the films for underpinings of Chritianity, Muslam, World War 2, and so many different stories.

I ALMOST wanted to say that it's better than the originals... but then I thought, you know, the characters were so much better in 4 thru 6. Han alone makes them superior.

I was bothered by little things... like, I didn't want Padme to name the kids or Lucas to give away where Leia went just so you could watch it 1-6 without screwing up that bit of drama. Also, after he's in his suit, Anakin says "couldn't". For some reason that bugged the hell out of me. Since when does Vader use contractions?!

To anyone who wants to knock the acting and lack of emotion in the acting ... don't. 99% of the time people bring that up is because they have no other critiscm to make and that is the easiest thing for people to say to make themselves look smart. I completely and whole-heartedly disagree with anoyone that says there was no emotion in th actors. I even disagree with anyone who knocks AotC and TPM for that. What do you want? Everyone of those actors managed to bring tears to my eyes with their emotion. I have never gotten that from any other movies ... EVER!

I never said the originals were bad, and if you note the fact that Lucas did not direct Episodes V and VI, and in most peoples opinions those are the better 2 out of all of them. So the whole thing of these films changing the film industry is not to credit Lucas. It was the other directors that took the story and made it into something. Lucas just took the story and butchered it.

NO! They sort of work it into the newly-composed stuff for maybe 3 seconds at a time, but the actual march isn't used! I was expecting it for sure at the end.
