Yeah, afterbangs are shitty park skis meant to be thrashed. S7s are directional backcounty skis. Hardly comparable.
But say bacons and something like suspects. Both on the pricier side... What's the difference in thrashing them on rails? My bacons have held up for 4 years, some suspects haven't held up for 4 days...
One main reason I have SFBs (the 08/09 non-rockered ones) and not something super fat and rockered is so I can ski the variable stuff and take some park laps after the pow is tracked. On jumps they're really stable but definitely on the heavy/slow rotating side. They don't feel all that agile compared to my ar6s. I have a mental block about riding rails on them since I value their edges way too much, but I have done it once and they're pretty fun.
I really prefer a park ski for a day dedicated to park, but bacons can handle a lap or two pretty well.
I'd think it would be fun on something really wide and short, like lizzys, but that won't be too much fun when it gets dark in NJ. super wide skis on ice/fake snow=annoying.
1 would take a 85 vs a 120 in the park any day, yes, fat skis will have there advantage, but to a certin extent, i think 100 would be the limit to your theory
