I'm wondering how these skis would hold up on the east coast? they seem like a ski that could hold up to anything but could they be something i can take into the park as well? i'm not huge in the park, but would they work on small boxes and rails?

Dude they will absolutely shred any and everything. Seriously all my friends who used to ride cryptos are ridin the new bacons this year. I was able to get the opus early and blew my gear budget nut on bindings, etc. I'm kinda pissed now though cause I really want the bacon as an everything shredder. I'm seriously considering sellin my cryptos to get em. Oh and I live on the east coast. I wouldn't ponder too long either. Line is already sold out and when the stores run out (which will be very soon), that's it till next year.
 
youll be fine. i know a kid who shreds the east coast on them all the time. you can take them really anywhere. a great all mountain ski. dont be intimidated by going a llittle wide on hardpack. they can take it.
 
I'm tellin ya bud. They are a real limited run this year. If your gonna do it don't dick around. I'm sayin that for your benefit. The skis are magical.
 
I've been checking these out myself. My boy Jay told me they were one of the funnest skis he rode at the shows last spring, and I'm mulling over getting these for myself. Most of my days are spent at Sugarloaf, which is definitely East Coast skiing at its finest. They're in stock right now on the site (on my signature), but I agree, they're going to sell out fast, for three reasons: 1. Limited supply. 2. SICK graphic (I am partial to trees). 3. It looks like Eric Pollard has delivered an insane one-ski quiver for this season. I say go for it.

 
I did however just find out that they will re-insert a new batch into the market around oct13 based purely on the super high demand for these skis but they will still be quite limited regardless. If I were you I'd def pull the trigger on these. You will not be sorry.
 
I use them in Australia..... enough said..... No but seriously soo much fun! and they hold a sick edge on groomers / hardpack without chattering! they just plow through anything! i've done a few park laps with them and they are fine!
 
If u make a thread in ski gabber ns will buy you a pair. But these skis are dope and will happily shred anything you throw at em
 
No it's not a dumb question at all. It's marketed as a freestyle pow ski and even the guys at my local shop think I'm nuts for replacing my cryptos with the bacons as a park/all mountain shredder. But yeah it'll def do that. Some wouldn't attempt it because of how expensive they are and how easy it is to wreck a ski on grinds. Also they're wider and surfier than your typical park ski. So don't expect to be rockin multiple change ups and 630s out kinda stuff. It's possible but not as easy as a narrower park ski. These will however shine on say, switch box presses and the stability of doing a straight 50/50 on a box/rail will be amazing. It comes down to your personal style really. If your more of the big floaty air/long smooth grind type, the bacons will be perfect. If your super duper technical, doin multiple switch ups on grinds and throwin double corks everywhere ya go and do flat 720s in the lift line(haha) then get a dedicated park ski. Hope that makes sense and gives ya a little better perspective.
 
yeah that really does help. i'm going to keep doing my research and hopefully gain more knowledge on if these skis will be right for me. im not a huge park guy at all, yes i hit small boxes and urbans, but nothing huge. these are just an option but they are deffinitly in my top 3 skis i want. ill keep in mind this info, thanks
 
I plan on using bacons as my park ski this season on the east coast, and I'm more of a jibber than anything else.
 
Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing too. I have the opus for anything over 3" and my "out west" expeditions but I'm buying the bacons next week to be my all new east coast all round shredder. You won't be sorry. It's a sick ski.
 
I don't have them yet, but yes those are the one's I intend to purchase.

Don't worry, the underfoot really isn't a big deal. I rode my 09/10 Hellbents in my eastcoast park most of the season and had the best time ever. You'll adjust to the size within a day or even a couple runs.. and if you're anything like me, you won't be able to ever go back haha
 
Same with me. My progression was chronics to cryptos to last years bacons to opus. I can't go back to the narrower skis now. Granted I'm not throwin double rodeos either. But yeah and now I'm replacing the cryptos with the new bacons as my park/light pow/groomer shredders as I said above. It totally changes your style in a good way though. I'll never go back to an under 100 again.
 
I use mine as my main ski in Michigan. They rip hella hard. ^and mount them at recommended
 
SFB's are a pretty awesome all-round ski.. I have no idea about the performance on rails/boxes.. but I know they stomp 20-30ft jumps.. No problem on groomers or pow. Definitely a great ski for the East.
