Sir Francis Bacon flex

So I've heard that they're really soft and jibby, but I've also heard that they got a lot stiffer for this season. I'd really rather them be super duper soft, so does anyone know how much stiffer they'll be, and how that will rate versus other soft skis?

Thanks.

Also, kinda a "should I get these skis" included. I'm 6' 140 (hell yeah I'm skinny) live in the PNW and have a pair of park skis already. Would these still be fun around the mountain if the fresh isn't deep? Would they be fun on groomers as well? Would they still be soft enough to really throw around for someone my weight? Basically, would these skis be really fun for me for just fooling around in good snow, much of it in bounds?

super sick skis all around, anyone should get them
i have the original ones and they're soft in the tips and tails but not so much in the middle, they're pretty noodley but nothing like ep's

They will be fine for you. I rode them (last years, 07/08 model) last season a decent amount and they are a very sick ski. If you want a one ski quiver (and like soft skis) these are for you, no doubt. I'm 5'9 150 lbs. and had them mounted at like -1 or -2 with Jesters.

Park: they work fine (not as good as Anthems but not half bad), I didn't take them on big stuff or spin more than some 3's but they are a blast, also didn't take them on rails cause they were my only fat ski for pow. Learned butter 3's on them.

Groomers: Very very good, even for being this big, they have a massive sidecut so they are very turny. Don't hesitate to ski them anywhere.

Deep pow (3 feet+): Very good, I mean they are 115 underfoot, they float great. Good for cliffs, I only did 15 foot or less ones though, so I can't vouch for big ones.

*note* There was a small amount of tip dive sometimes because I mounted them close to center, but that's cool cause I use them as an all mtn. tool and got Donner Party's this year for my pow needs.

Glades with pow: very sick due to sidecut, they turn on a dime and don't feel as big as they are.

I would consider these an all mtn./pow ski, that can also ride park fine, but there are better skis for park. I think you would have a lot of fun on these skis. I skied them in the PNW pow, and in some really light pow the one time last year that we had it. I consider these skis an in-between ski, like something you get if you already have a park/groomer ski (something like 80-95 underfoot), and you already have, or are going to get a 100% pow ski such as Donner Party's, ARG's, or any other really fat ski with rocker and hopefully reverse sidecut.

Thanks a ton. Sounds like the skis for me. But again on the flex question: anybody know how much stiffer it got? Will it be noticeable?

Yeah, but I can't find any new pairs of last year's anywhere at all. If you know where there are some I'd do that for sure.

I don't think they changed the ski at all for 09.

Although I might be wrong too, but I never heard of a stiffer flex for 09.

Hmmm. They might not have changed it. It was some dude who posted a comment on the skis on Backcountry.com that said it was stiffer. Just a little bit though...
Either way I sent an email to line, so I'll let all you know what they have to say about it.
Thanks.
