this is probably a pointless thread, but unfortunately the NS Car Cult hasnt been very active lately.

i recently installed some new mods on my car, the main one being the new OBX Racing 4-2-1 header and downpipe.

i bought it for the performance gains, and also to fix a leak. i had a huge crack in my stock exhaust manifold.. i was glad to fix that.

I was out in my garage all day yesterday installing the new performance header.

It gave me about another 10 horsepower and better fuel economy due to the repaired exhaust leak.

it was definitely worth it.

I'll be installing a full catback exhaust in the near future.

Then eventually new camshafts, a TB spacer, and a new ECU.

it's not made up, it was an estimation.

it definitely gave me around 8-10 hp.

and yes, the block is a KA24
 
i only have 1 picture of it and it's pretty bad because it was taken when my car was parked in the garage, so the angle is all messed up.

I believe you mean the valve cover though.

mine is painted dark metallic red. it looks much better than the dirty, bland gray stock valve cover did.

The header is not a part that you would want to paint.

My header was silver before it was installed, but after the car is driven for a bit, it turns a dark gold color with a blue tint due to the extreme heat.
 
no worries. i figured that's what you really meant.

painted valve covers are definitely a nice touch to modified engines.

does anyone else have tuned cars?
 
woot my valve cover is blue metallic woot. I dont have any pictures right now as the car is parked for the winter, still need to put some more time into it to get the new tune running better and stop a minor leak in the turbo return gasket The car cult isnt really dead, it just slows down a bit when everyone is skiing and a lot of guys park their cars.

I have a 99 eclipse GSX. Hopefully going to have evenything to get about 400awhp in a couple months. Just saving and buying stuff for a BB 50-trim setup.
 
in the process of building a 2001 MkIV with a 2005 a4 1.8t engine in it so far just a diverter valve and a c.a.i on it cuz im poor but theres some huge plans on the way for it
