Lol, that's exactly what I said when I saw this. But to go off topic, I feel like this is why most kids these days are pieces of shit, because of all the garbage that the media is producing these days. Most movies, games, music, books etc. are turning into fucking shit, just think of the great snes games and disney movies we used to watch, and compare it to what's out today, even the simpsons; remember how good this show used to be? The only people I think that are holding it down really is pixar haha.... just my 2cents.

i dont really like the simpsons anymore, they are really losin it, unlike south parkseason 14 is the shit, and crippled summer is the best yet

idk but they always had some sort of joke with the couch scene towards the end of the intro, and i think they did a sgt pepper mock up once for that
 
If I remember correctly, the huffington post said this was the first time in 20seasons they've strayed from the classic intro segment.

It made me laugh, as it was intended. No use overanalyzing it.
 
I'm kinda with you on this one, in general I just do not think that they are as funny as they used to be. It's like they try too hard to be current and I feel that comes off as being "stupid funny" most times as opposed to "cleavar funny." Also I do not care for the newer episodes annimation that is obviously cg and looks a lot like futurama. Don't get me wrong I always watch them when they're on, I just do not enjoy newer ones as much. rant=done
 
pretty sure this is wrong, they've done tons of super long ones like this, couches come alive and terrorize the city, evolution right up to homer (so epic) and chasing the couch through a newspaper come to mind
 
update, you're partly right. looked it up, and while its not the first time they've used an extended couch gag, but it is the first time that the theme by danny elfman hasn't been in the intro in any way
 
More importantly, we should all take this opportunity to observe that God has five fingers while all the other characters have four.
