fuck this, i hate that shit looks like skiing is going the way of aerials if this catches on. Honestly soon everyone will be doing double front 540 or like quad back quad twist its fucking gay. Skiing is going the wrong way in terms of progression.
 
thats the whole point, he will eventually grab it. It will look "good" it will win comps and soon everyones going to start it. There will be no more switch 7s, cork 5s. I really dont want skiing to go the way of multiple inverts. Especially fronts and backs with a spin. I dont mind flatspins or lincons or anything though.
 
i don't think newschool skiing will allow that. if anything its gonna be triple flatspins or something like that off HUGE jumps so they don't look so hucked so don't even trip.

progression will take its own path. people will do what they want...sure a group will follow the same path as others...but just face it. there is no telling what is going to happen next.
 
that was really ugly. i see no difference between that and aerials except he was flipping forward instead of backwards. soooooo ugly.

Thinking before posting on NS? That would be a first....It wouldnt be a ns thread without everyone hating on someone they will never have 1/2 the skills of.....The kid helped the sport HUGE by boosting 20+ feet out of the pipe on ESPN and now you hate on him...wow

It will keep going this way until a notable pro is crippled on a quad twisting double at keystone. Then, it will all start over..striped BFA pants and all..

i dont think anybody was hating on him (at least not what i saw), they were hating on his trick because i personally would be dissapointed if that trick was considered "legit" in a real competition. maybe if he threw a grab in there but he wasnt even close to doing that yet.

every trick you learn doesnt look good the first time you do it...give it some time, just like the 1260 which he grabs now...ps it involves a front flip so how can you hate on it??????? the end
 
Haha I guess what you kids fail to realize is that this was shot while Simon was lapping the park... I guess simon cant have a good time throwin down and havin fun? He has to be in full competition mode and only throw shit that would be considered "legit" in real competitions while he is lapping the park.

This was one of probably 30 diff tricks he threw down that day, but I guess everytime he hits a jump now he should think to himself, what will the kids of newschoolers think?
 
if you would read my post properly I never hated on it for just throwing down in the park. i specifically said i would just be dissappointed if something so close to aerials was thrown down in a comp..."kid"
 
i understand your frustration. the best way to fight it is to do your own thing, have fun and not give a poop about what others think. dont worry as long as candide, pep, sage, pollard, mahre, and chris benchentler continue making segments layed back crazy smooth steez will always be there.
 
and i come to realize, anything and everything that is said on NS is going to have good/bad remarks on it, oh i love free will.

this would look sick with some gorilla steeze, or even double safety. I THINK.
