Simon in the BC

I'm sure its already been mentioned somewhere but I was truly surprised to see Simon didn't show at the MSP shoot because he was focusing on backcountry shoots.. I really didn't expect that but it does seem to be the trend these days.

Simon's always mentioned he's wanted to shoot in the BC... I remember him saying that he wanted to win back gold in the X-games pipe and then he'd go shoot in the BC 'cause the 'landings hurt less' or something

Tanner's still the setter, Simon's still the follower.

Is Simon shooting in the BC as part of his documentary or is he shooting with a bigger production company?

im really suprised... cant imagine it

is it like heli ak stuff or bc booters. i guess i could c him doin some bc booters

Candide too

It's kinda following the snowboarding movement, take a look at Travis Rice and the like...

We're starting to see some huge hits in the backcountry like you do in snowbording, (ahem, mr cosco, dub cork 12), and i'm sure we'll see more in the next season or two.

i guess when you get old you prefer softer landings =P

its not like this is something new, back in the day simon was apparently a beast a moguls and plain old skiing, so you would expect when he does what he wants in the comp circuit he will switch over to the BC... most of all of the oldish pros now had a background other than straight park (tanner-moguls, jon-race, vanular-moguls ect.) many people coming up now are amazing at tricks and park but when you throw them on real mountains they piss their pants... but not necessarily a bad thing cuz skiing is all about fun and most all pros will eventually progress in their career to be sick all around

people may go into this mysterious "BC". but please delineate whether it is simply to build a booter or if they're skiing gnarnia lines. two different worlds.

that s fucking wrong.

Have you watched not another ski movie ?? simon was hittin huge stepdowns in the bc.

He s ust focused on something else but he is nowhere near a follower.

get your hate back.

Yeah no doubt there is a huge difference between going to the BC and building booters, and going to the BC to do gnarly lines. Guessing from Simon's past, I would have to say he went to the BC to build

Yeah that's more of what I meant.. I just can't see him dropping lines out of a heli in Haines.

yeah, he had a right 9 but because the pipe was so short he lost 2 hits and for some reason decided against the right 9

he may or may not be a follower but he's not really a leader either. he's just good. he's not really leading the way to new things though. i mean i guess you may classify going huge in the pipe (half and quarter) leading somewhere but i don't think that really counts. i mean it's not even as foward thinking( ???) as candide leading the way to sending it huge off rediculous tables.
